I'll give you the footnotes for those who don't care for reading and then I will explain below.
Excellent unit, clean, efficient I highly recommend getting it. I also highly recommend getting the dosing capsules. The dosing capsules are a little on the pricey side, but it saves your piece from getting nasty.
Ok, for a little details. I've been using this unit multiple times a day since 9/22, so almost a month and I truly love it.
I was skeptical at first because I only smoked out of Grav pipes. I wasn't sure if it would be effective enough but after many sessions, I have concluded it's very efficient. The herb is uniformly tannish brown throughout.
I found that the unit heated up very fast. I really enjoy the tactile/audible notification when the unit is ready. The first rip rarely produces much vapor, but the one after that is on spot.
The biggest question I had was about knowing when the herb is spent and after many sessions, I realized it's when you are getting less and less vapor, it's spent. This is a new process for me, so I was unsure what to expect.
I highly recommend getting the dosing capsules. They save you so much time from cleaning not to mention saving your oven. They are a little pricey, but I think it will save you money in the long run. Don't pack them too tight, it needs airflow to hit all the herb.
Now for my tiniest feedback. The battery life. I usually get about 4 sessions on a battery. I realize the unit is heating up a stainless-steel capsule and herb to like 375° but I would like to see a little more battery life. I do love the built-in battery protection from overcharging.
As for Healthy Rips customer service, I am impressed. I had emailed them inquiring more information on how to get more battery life. I did receive a decent response and I accepted it but a few days later, I receive another email from customer service. The message started out apologizing for the last rep because they didn't completely answer my question. Someone was spot checking someone's work. I like that. Here is the actual response:
"Hi Team,
This response did not answer this client's question. The answer is: You can charge the device at any time in the battery cycle - it does not hurt the device battery. Further, for the longevity of the battery, it is best to keep it above 20% or one charge bar - and never let the battery completely die.
Thanks!
Chris"
I was very impressed. Great job Healthy Rips!
I do have a little feedback for the Healthy Rips website. It would be nice to be able to have an account with you. It would be nice to see my purchase history.
Now for the cleaning. I have a small glass jar with a lid on it with about 2 inches of Isopropyl alcohol in it. I empty the dosing capsules and place them in the jar, then, I take my glass mouthpiece and gently slide it into the alcohol, I then take the O-Ring and screen unit and drop that in the alcohol. I then agitate the jar to clean the pieces. I then take out each piece and dry them thoroughly. I don't put the unit together because I don't want the rubber O-Ring to be compressed all night for no reason. I'm probably overthinking it, but this is an expensive unit and I want it to last a long time.
If you made it this far, thank you so much for your time. Happy Ripping!
