I was initially working with any company like Quad and was disappointed with the way they seemed to steamroll me at every step. I REALLY wanted to get into the Ivy League, and I just knew that other company wasn't going to help me. The counselors at Quad actually listen to you and care about how YOU want to present yourself in your applications. While their advice is great, they never take over and try to make you something you're not, which I really appreciated. The personal statement editing is greatI loved that edits were open to discussion, instead of just “do this.” I'm happy it turned out this way, because I got accepted into Yale!

While she encouraged my son to aim for reach schools, she also provided realistic assessments of more competitive options. I never felt like she was trying to upsell or mislead us; rather, I sensed genuine investment in my success. It's important to note that if you're expecting consultants to write your essays for your child, that's not how these consulting companies operate. However, the onus is on you to take ownership of the writing process if you want your voice to shine through. While the price is a little steep, I believed it was worth the investment.

Despite his impressive academic stats, my son wasn't confident about formulating his Common App activities list or writing the school-specific essays. He felt showing impact in just 150 characters or a couple-hundred words was exceptionally challenging and I agreed with him. Brevity isn't exactly my strong suit, haha. Corey did an excellent job of helping my son cut to the best and most meaningful aspects of his activities and academic enrichment opportunities so far. The persona assessment is by far one of the most valuable parts of working with Quad. The key insights Corey came up with were so detailed, and there were many more that me or my son didn't even think about!! My son is the Student Council President at his school, is a member of the debate club, won the School Band Award for his clarinet-playing in grade 11, and also got into Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Summer program, which we knew were more obvious points, but Corey went even further to get to the skills and lessons my son had learned. They were an awesome counselor and I wouldn't hesitate to give Quad Education 10 stars if I could. I'm proud of my son for getting accepted to Brown, Vanderbilt, and Duke, and I fully support his choice of going to Duke University with 50K+ in scholarship winnings!!
