We are very happy with this home weather station. Purchasing it on their website was quick & easy. Shipping was fast! Directions to set it up were easy to follow. The display is precise. The only thing we would like to have on the display is “chill factor”…thus the 4 star rating. We are enjoying the app, being able to check the weather at our home while we are away. We definitely recommend this weather station to others!

Overall very satisfied as to build quality and ease of use from installation to console connection to wi-fi. Would have rated it 5 stars if not for a couple of very time consuming, what should have been insignificant glitches. The sensor array with the curved tube that attaches to the main pole, had a screw hole that simply did not line up properly because of a dimple at the connection point that prevented alignment. After trying for some time, a finished 6 penny nail inserted through both holes pulled the two holes into alignment so that the tightening screw could be inserted and secured. The bird spike I purchased was beyond difficult to construct and fell of the rain collector after a day. Tightened up on the unit and so far, it has remained in tact. These are not deal breakers certainly, but these two small items took an inordinate amount of time to resiolve not to mention, the frustration. Once all resolved, the Ambient WS-5000 has been a great unit now reporting to both CWOP and MADIS.

The installation manual could be written better, look at instructions from the standpoint of a new user. The assembly and installation was straight forward and easy and to operating smoothly. The display is smaller than a previous model but a good balance between space and viewability.

I had an older model of a weather station for many years but as we moved to a new house this was my opportunity to upgrade. I love this new unit. I was pleasantly surprised that the signal from the unit was able to reach my display even though it is close to 200 feet away, and the signal is strong! I had talked with someone in support earlier and they explained that this model has replacement sensors so if something should happen to one it can be fixed rather than lose that functionality. I'm a very pleased customer.

Found the console easy to set up, almost a no brainer. Hardest part about the outside unit was finding a spot to put it in the yard. Second hardest was lining it up with north so the wind direction would be accurate, but that's more about me being able to read a compass than anything about the weather station.
