Its food exercise for the cat. Its like people jerky, but nowhere near as tough/chewy (thankfully).
You can hold onto a piece of the jerky and let the cat tear any bits of that they can and chew the result. Its seems like a good way for cats to learn and exercise their teeth the way it was designed to be used - for shredding. My cat had a little trouble at first, but holding the jerky with the grain sideways helps.

A little unusual preparing the freeze dried food. It comes in finger sized bricks that you break up into smaller pieces. Then add water to give it some moisture. My cat seems to like it and was excited when she first smelt it. I use it as a treat now and then. Seems like good quality.
