Great to have the 3rd stop and 2nd log dog - really stabilizes a log and allows us to do shorter than 8 ft logs. (would have liked to have all the parts sent at the same package - pole missing from the kit on the 1st shipment..) In order to solve this problem in the future, might I suggest that each item has the weight of each component calculated plus the weight of the proper size box that the Kit or set of components should be.. The shipper should weigh the box with all the parts and compare it with the Kit calculation on the shipping list and verify it is the same weight as it should be before it's shipped.

Overall, I'm pleased with the sawmill itself. I purchased the 10 ft track from Norwood as well. First cuts were great after setup. I've equipped the mill with my ported Husqvarna 385xp (20" bar) and a full compliment ripping chain. I'm able to complete a 12" cut in spruce in under 30 seconds with stopping to insert wedges into the cut.

I gave 4/5 for a few reasons:

First, I found the directions difficult to follow at times. I worked through it, but some of the pieces located in smaller bags were difficult to locate and be sure I had the correct piece I needed for a particular step.

Second, I had the mill and bunks secured to two 2x6x4' as indicated in the setup instructions and placed on level ground. I noticed that the saw carriage experienced some fairly significant vibration during the cut in a 12" spruce when the saw head was raised high up the post. I'm not sure if this is just from the power of my saw, but I had to ease my feed rate and reduce throttle to minimize it. I've since milled some logs as a base to secure the track, and that has helped some. I also added two more 2x6x4' at the front and rear of the track, and these are secured to my log base.

Thirdly, with the 10ft Norwood track and the stops at the end, you can just barely cut an 8ft log. If there is a bit of movement of the log during the cut, sometimes the carriage doesn't have enough travel to finish the cut which can be frustrating.

Overall, I'm happy with the mill, and purchased an additional 5 ft track extension and cross bunk to expand my cutting capacity.

I like the length works great , handle is little too large in diameter however.

Blades have to be replaced about every two hours

Did not have the chance to try it yet. I am sure that it will work great,the pm 14 saw mill that i purchase
from works awsome but i build a new platform for it and did not have the chance to set it up yet. Once
i have it set up i wil be able to cut 20 feet long logs.

Great piece of equipment !

It took a little bit longer to assemble than I had thought, but I got through it. The assembly book is very well put together with good descriptions and drawings. Now that I have ripped up a few logs, I have a pretty good idea about how to use it so that the cuts are straight and parallel.... The only negative I have is regarding the dogs, and with a bit of work, I will make some 1" angle iron pieces to go between the pointed screw(which slides off when working near the bottom of a round log) which should not slide down and provide a much more secure hold.
Other than that it is all good.
