Our new BBQ arrived promptly although communication via phone was difficult in these challenging times, however via messenger and Facebook any questions were answered within an hour, so well done Garden Box...we were disappointed that the offer that we had ordered was changed between the time that we placed the order and when it was dispatched, so we lost out on a free griddle and pizza stone that were bespoke to the actual BBQ both of which are no longer available from any supplier within the UK, had we known at the time then we would have opted for an alternative BBQ...overall pleased with BBQ..

Email response could be better as I had to ring 3 times to get information on my purchase. But once we got sorted delivered very quick.

I am very reluctant to leave a poor review for a small business because I appreciate the damage that even a small number can make, and would not have taken it upon myself to leave one despite the dreadful service I received, but as they requested one I felt I should give some feedback.

Firstly I ordered a very keenly priced bbq/smoker from them (the lowest cost I could find in the UK) and it stated a 3-5 day delivery. Due to Covid-19 I half expected to be advised of a delay but was pleasantly surprised I didn't get one.
After just over a week and no notification the goods were on the way I started to call the company, only to find that they don't answer their own calls but outsource them to a messaging service which was quite frankly hopeless. After 3 days and multiple messages left verbally plus emails with no contact back I was starting to worry that the goods would never arrive.
I left numerous deadlines for them to contact me back before I went to my bank to cancel the payment but nothing! Out of desperation I contacted them on Facebook and got an answer within minutes. The person was apologetic and offered to find out what was going on.

I was advised the next day that there was supply issues and the German manufacturer was unable to deliver into the UK. I was told they would try to source one from a UK distributor or possibly supply me with a pristine display model. I needed the product urgently so agreed to the display item. They told me it would be next day pallet delivered to my address along with the bag of charcoal I had also ordered. Three business days later I received a text to advise that it had been despatched. I was also sent a Facebook message advising that they had forgotten to send the charcoal and would post it separately. They didn't arrive the next day as expected so I contacted them again on Facebook. Was told it would definitely be there the day after, which to be fair it was.

Disappointingly it was slightly damaged in transit and had a missing nut meaning the bbq could not be properly assembled without me going to buy a new one. I contacted them immediately on Facebook and got a prompt phonecall (the first time I had spoken with someone at all) from the manager who asked me to send photos and they would look into it because they didn't want me to be disappointed. One week on and I have had no further contact and am not expecting any.

Whilst the product appears to be excellent after one use, the experience of purchasing it was the worst I have ever encountered and unfortunately I would never buy anything from this company again. My order was small in comparison to some of the products they sell, so maybe this is why they didn't put any importance on it. Overall a really poor experience.

An issue with delivery quickly resolved, turned out to be courier fault anyway. Emails responded to late into the evening. Very responsive and helpful. Part of the item that was cracked on delivery was replaced with a new part 2 days later without hassle. Very happy with the product and the service received from Mark especially. Cheers.

Mark was great in his approach, without too much of a hard sell and was helpful throughout, which is why I bought from GardenBox. Delivery was pretty swift too considering the current climate!
