I ordered from Hearthstone Farms based on the morals and standards that guide them. My ham is for Easter therefore I have yet to taste this product - but the personal accompanying literature and obvious care exhibited makes me sure of the quality. (I'm hoping those happy and peaceful cows on the postcard are not slated for steaks).

We ordered the large box with 20 cuts of meat for a family of 5. The delivery arrived 2 days later and all meat was still frozen. I like that they use biodegradable packaging although each piece of meat is wrapped in plastic. Not sure how else they could wrap meat without increased cost. The meat was great quality. There wasn’t any cut that we did not like. We will order from Heartstone Farm again. I only gave them 4 stars because of the cost. It is definitely more expensive than purchasing in the grocery store. We are trying to order our meat this way because we want to eat meat that is in its most natural and nutritious state but I am not sure how long we can maintain the cost.

This app is not allowing me to review shipping separately from meat quality. So know that my review is on the usefulness of their *coupon*. Be prepared when you get an offer for $20 off. Farmer Dan only allows you *one* discount. So, as soon as you use the $20 coupon, they add back the cost of *free shipping*. The result is that you really only get a $5 discount. I contacted the support line, and this was confirmed. Will I order again? Yes - the meat was great. Will I ignore any discount offers? Absolutely.

Margaret - Thank you for your feedback. I apologize and I completely understand how frustrating an experience that is. I have tried to figure out how to fix it - it's a problem that's a bit outside of our control. I even contacted the company we use for our ecommerce platform - Shopify - because you should be able to use a coupon and not pay a penalty because of it and have to pay for shipping. Unfortunately I didn't get much satisfaction - yet - from Shopify but I will keep working on it. In the meantime if you run into this again please send me an email and we will immediately refund your shipping charge. Again, I apologize for the hassle. - Dan

a lot of our packages are damaged and leaking. it is majority of the meats that I have thawed so far. There was also a package of chicken that was paid for but missing. The stew meat was pretty tough.

Excellent quality meat with top notch customer service! I have ordered meat twice and both times it was delivered right to my door personally by Dan. The steaks are fork tender and top notch! I don't think we can buy any other beef now since we have tried this. The flavor is deep and rich which matches the color of the meat. You can tell at a glance before you taste it that it's not your regular grocery store meat. But by far what will keep me coming back for more is the flavor and tenderness. Thank you Dan for your time a dedication to bring us wonderful quality meat.
