I bought the Maine Box last week and have loved all the beef and chicken. I made burgers the first day. I've made tacos with the shaved beef and i deconstructed the whole chicken into 2 cast iron pans, seared it with fresh rosemary, garlic salt & pepper. After searing it i added some onion, orange grape tomatoes & yellow squash, deglazed the pan with white wine and added some chicken stock, finished cooking it in oven and served it with basmati rice!! Today i made meatballs with the burger meat, looking forward to that tonight for supper. Oh and I made the skinless boneless chicken breast and they were wonderful. Looking forward to placing another order soon.

I absolutely love getting our beef from Dan! We have never been dissatisfied. My mother in law is who started us on this farm. When times got really tough she sent us 3 boxes mixed of each kind of beef they had. When we bought our house a few months back we were extremely sad when our freezer that had all our beef from farmer Dan went and we didn’t know it for a few weeks, we were blessed with a Christmas present of a gift card for the farm. Michael - Thanks for the review. It took us a while to figure out the right size on these. For a while we had 1/4 lb- but they were too small. Then we had 6 ozs - but they were hard to price because they were over 1 lb when there were 3. I think you're right - 1/3 lb is just right! - Dan

My wife and I decided to order the beef shares due to the pandemic to heave plenty of inventory around for our family. So far we have enjoyed the ground beef which we have made burgers, meatloaf and Shepard’s pie. The ground beef is simply the best and very tasty. The other night my wife and I had a little date night at home and we cooked up a couple of T-bone steaks. Those steaks were the most mouth watering T-bone steaks we have ever had. We are so pleased with the quality of the beef. You can’t find this quality at a chain market store. We are and will be continuing to get our meat from Heartstone farm.
