100% Grass Fed Shaved Steak
I received my first order of meat from Heartstone farm recently, and oh boy, everything was as wonderful as I could have hoped. The shipping was fast, it arrived thoroughly frozen and well insulated (with environmentally friendly packaging!) and details like a nice hand written welcome note added to what was already a great experience. And the meat! It's so good! Everything we've tried so far has been wonderful, but for me the star was the shaved steak. I made philly cheese steaks and also tossed some into a quiche, both times several bits didn't make their way into their intended dishes because I couldn't help but snack on them directly from the pan. It's delicious, super easy and quick to cook, and extremely versatile. I was just commenting to my spouse that it was quite possibly my new favorite food and next time we place an order we should stock up since I only got one package the first time and I'm already looking forward to more!

Not for the faint of heart! A very tasty and gamey (or organ-y) taste. I found it fantastic when slow cooked for about 40 minutes. A great bang for you buck too since you get a lot of meat. Glad I tried it.

It's tough to write a review since we have not receive the order even it's shipping 6 days ago. I'm sure the shipping container is sufficient enough for a beef to last a week outside. Updated: The farm has sent another package as replacement. The beef was excellent.

Hi - As we discussed on the phone, this was a real screw up on FedEx's part. First it was in Newark, then Memphis, then Indianapolis! Both UPS and FedEx had a real challenge this Christmas - but this was still a rare screw up. 99% of our shipments arrive on time. We have put in a claim with FedEx but I know it was frustrating for you! We are very sorry . As we discussed, we are sending a replacement to your recipient. Very happy I took a chance on this order. I ordered the meat and chicken box. It came very well packed and still completely frozen. The compostable cushioning was impressive - sustainability is one reason I avoid ordering food online. I appreciate the effort to minimize environmental impact. My husband raved about the NY strips. He’s super picky. The shaved steak was great, very thin - it was like pulling bacon strips & not all squished up every which way. I will continue to order. It is expensive, but I am committed to buying more food locally (I live in Maine) and finding a local meat supplier was next on my list. This food is very high quality & better for you and delish. Instant Pot. Water. Apple Cider Vinegar. Salt. 4-6 hours. You're Done! Now enjoy the healthiest drink on the planet. Most people don't know the benefits. Real bone marrow broth is very good for you. Easy and affordable and tastes like a boring chicken soup broth. I'm a health and wellness coach and If I am not handing my professional athletes this to drink daily I tell them to buy it. I've bough bone marrow from the local stores but it's not the same. Knowing it's grass fed and local makes me feel better plus the taste is better. The bones are much bigger than what you'll find elsewhere. Don't settle for bone broth pre-made in stores. It's sure to be watered down and have additives, you won't know how much you are really getting. I'm happy I found a Farmer with a good reputation that I can rely on to sell me power foods. The kabob meat was cut and packaged well. Left very little prep on my end! Succulent, and I cut a few down to have all roughly the same size while trimming off very little fat, membrane, or tendon. Nothing wasted- my dog and I ate the roasted scraps. No complaints. Fired up the shashlik (from the Russian side of the family- a kabob specific park grill) and the marinated meat, onion and garlic skewers took the mesquite and rosemary smoke beautifully!
