Truly, a great experience!!! I live in Ontario, Canada and I got a ticket from a New York State Police for not changing lanes when approaching a police vehicle on the shoulder. After bemoaning the fact that I was slapped with a speeding ticket in a small town 200 miles away from my home, my father-in-law suggested that I hire a lawyer, that I would probably feel less anxious, and that I might even get a better outcome than if I tried to handle the matter myself. My internet search led me to Mr. Vilanueva (his website may not be aesthetically pleasing, but the comments from clients were just right.). In speaking to me on the phone, he communicated that he understood that my speeding ticket was extremely important to me; he did not rush the conversation, or trivialize the matter, or speak to me flippantly. Mr. Villanueva was personable and thorough; he had a depth of knowledge and a wealth of experience in dealing with this particular municipality. He outlined all the steps and he predicted that, if I agreed to take the defensive driving course, the chances were very good that my ticket would be withdrawn. Now I am here, writing to you today. After turning the matter over to Mr. Villanueva who kept me informed of his dealings with the District Attorney, etc., and following the steps he recommended I follow, and after completing the defensive driving course on time, my ticket was withdrawn (i.e., dismissed!). I was at risk of getting 6 points on my license. The radar picked me up doing 86 mph in a 65 mph zone. I am a mature person and I don't even like to speed (my family makes fun of my slow driving) but I was on very long trip (340 miles) and I did have a lapse of attention. My record was clean before the ticket. I did not cause an accident. I was not intoxicated. So I qualified for the Driver Diversion Program. I learned an important lesson about speeding -- don't do it. If you get a ticket, maybe you should hire a good lawyer.
