Really Needed on your Sur Ron

Just a word about my experience dealing with Luna. Having two bikes with Bafang builds it's a steady stream of upgrades and parts. Your forums are an awesome knowledge base and prices are the best around. I'm 80 yrs old, can't drive because of sight problems, but the bikes keep the dog and I mobile. Thanks for the great work, and wishing you great success for the future.

I found the Sur Ron with the X controller and the 48 tooth sprocket just a little to fast (top speed) for the trails, and not quite spunky enough to pull wheelies with my 190 lbs weight. So I ordered the 60 tooth sprocket, and now I wish there was a 54 or 56 tooth sprocket. I know, splitting hairs but I think that would be the perfect ratio for the mountain trail drives I like. Most of all though, I wish there was a belt drive ratio to match. I wouldn't mind putting out the extra $ for the quiet aspect on the mountain trails.

Just what you'll need for a fat tire build I suggest getting 2 or 3 sets

I followed a nother users build off of the forum for a lurch be it I have 0ne too with a few modifications the Portland design mud shovels I notched the front Fender to slide up past the forks on the headset and stead of trimming it and the rear Fender is zip tied to the bottom of the black burn universal bikerack because I'm running a cane Creek thud Buster and a SerffasHSS saddle.
I Added a Montana scabbards to carry long items like a fishing Pole or my bow and the top of the scabbard makes a great place to mount a rear light nice and high.
I added a big eyes 1800 lumen 6front lamp using the helmet mount zip tied to the bottom of the headset Instead of the handlebars because I'd like to see what's in front of me when negociating quick turns on a trail at night.
I did a cammo job Where's a couple of rolls of gorilla tape Because I couldn't stand the factory yellow Paint job kill in my eyes
Luna cycle did an outstanding job and my bike is everything I thought it would be and more if I could give more than 2 thumps up I would this thing runs like a scalded ape it's a real riot!!!
For the future I plan on a Bluto Upgraded thicker hydraulic brakes And replacing the Anderson connectors Other than that I'm still enjoying the learning curve.

Bottom bracket adapters are great they fit well works with bafang bbs and bbshd mid drives

Super easy to connect wires to, large or small. Easy enough to mount with some creative use of zip ties. Best on/off switch I can imagine and at a low price!

I had a friend tow me when my battery ran out. it was in the rain and uphill in too high a gear. I think I must have overheated the motor because about a week later, it started cutting out.Then there was the error code 8, which refers to the hall sensor. Since the hall sensor was part of the motor core, I ordered that from Luna. Took me about an hour to install it, and I have now put over a hundred miles with no problems. I think the bike goes faster as well. I am satisfied with the service from Luna.

I bought this as a backup for my other Luna charger. It works exactly as it should. While I prefer the flexibility of my other charger to choose five levels of charging and 80/90/100%, this charger does the trick and fills me up when I’m away from home.

Just perfect!!!

Although I haven't had this headset installed for very long, it is a better fix than the headset from Cane Creek, which is what I replaced. The tapered bearings are more robust, and should hold up much better than much smaller roller bearings that were installed as standard equipment, Installation instructions were not included with the kit, and I was somewhat confused by the top and bottom bearing covers at first because the top cover looks very much like a crown race. However it cannot be intstalled like a crown race becuase the tapered steering post is too big at its widest point to ever allow the upper bearing cover to be pressed on like a crown race. Once you figure this out, it's not too difficult to see how everything goes together. Still, I wish Luna had included some instructions to clarify the installation, and this is the only reason I give this product a 4-stars instead of 5. One final comment is that the bearings do come lightly greased, but I would recommend packing them thoroughly, as the light coating of grease isn't sufficient to protect them.

Great bike for my commute to work! It's a 15 mile round trip and I have 40% battery power left after the ride. I was worried that the small size (I'm 5'6" tall) would be too big for me but it's been great. I've been riding to work 2-3 times per week in the past month. It's light enough to carry it up one flight of stairs to my office. I like the 'hybrid' type tires that it comes with. One quirk I've noticed: Sometimes the battery level on the display get's stuck. The display would show full battery power after 5-6 miles then suddenly drops down to the correct level.

This charger is awesome, since it gives you many options for charging, having a display to show the charging amperage and voltage definitely is a plus since there is no more guessing how much time you have left until you can ride. Luna cycles has one of a kind products you can't find anywhere else, and the service to support it .
