ARCAS launch with Dark Matter for the 4th of July! The ultimate fireworks. This is another great model from Madcow. Minimum fitting, super high quality components, and goes together easily. Had some doubts about the scale paint job, but it looks great and shows in the sky very well.

When we began constructing our entry into the 2018 Spaceport America Cup we realized that we didn't have the means to easily create a nose cone matching the scale of our rocket, so we came to Madcow looking for a solution. We ended up purchasing a 6" 5.5:1 Von Karman filament wound nose cone and were impressed with its strength and durability. The main parachute of our rocket did not eject properly, and so the rocket fell under drogue only from 19,000 ft AGL. When we recovered the only damage on the nose cone was scratched paint!

The Tomach 2.6" was my first fibreglass kit. Generally quite good, although the cuts of the tube seemed a bit off, but this was easily remedied. Did my level 2 flight with it, and have gone over 10,000 feet and over Mach 1 with it. I'm really happy with this rocket, and thinking about a minimum diameter version for my next buy.

I got one of the black Friday special Nike Apache kits. Took a while to get here but was all in all is a good kit. I found the fin slots to be a bit tight but nothing that a little sanding couldn't take care of. I hadn't considered how little room there would be in the sustainer to fit everything in but, was able to make it work.
I used a TeleMega with a 2 Cell 400mAh LiPo on the sustainer to do the dual deploy and fire the motor. Used a square aluminum tube to run the ignitor wire down to the sustainer motor which worked fairly well. So far I have had two perfect flights the first on a J315 to a G64 and the second on a K805 to I205

The Bomarc. My childhood nemesis, reborn... Only bigger this time. As an unstable 12" Estes rocket in the 80s, it almost killed me and my best friend... twice.. (or so it seemed, as kids ;^)
This is the MadCow 2.6" variant.. sold as a 29mm motor mount, I got Mike from Madcow Rocketry to include a 38mm motor tube and I modified everything for more oomph.
Already flown once, naked, with a mild, opened but free fall crash... It has earned its sexy new skin. Ready for the launch this Saturday.
