Tough and thin. Got 400m of 73lb on my 10000 reel

Only worn them once so far. Seem to be fine.

I will start by saying I use this for walking in the hills unlike 99.999% of people who buy it. Swazi do not market it as a coat designed for this.This is a very good coat. It is well made. It's a good length giving great overlap with water proof trousers. The material is good. The coat is good at keeping the wind and rain at bay. It is also surprisingly light.The zip is sensibly big so that you can hold it and close it with cold hands. There is a very good flap that closes over the zip to keep the elements out. There are also stud fasteners down the front to keep the coat closed in the worst of weathers.The coat has good size velcro strips in front of your chin and mouth to keep the this area closed plus the zip and over lapping flap. I feel a stud fastening here at the top would be beneficial in very windy conditions. Probably only necessary on the heights in very windy weather but that's my observation. The side pockets are a good size but the flaps on the pockets need to be redesigned. The flaps have one deep side with a stud fastening tapering to a shallow side that is sewn directly to the coat. It is not that good at keeping the rain out in bad conditions. The pockets need a deep flap with stud fasteners on both sides. The current flap with the side sewn directly to the coat will over time put a strain on the stitching especially if you put your hat in and take it out a couple of times depending on the weather. A deep flap with stud fasteners with get rid of this problem.The hood is good but let down by the fact that it does not have stud fasteners to keep it in place in very windy conditions. It has a draw string with plastic retainers. This is a bad design. When you tighten the draw string it pulls the hood closer to your face making it smaller and exposing you to the elements. Also the plastic retainers owing to their design will wearing the draw string over time. Again this issue probably does not arise when this jacket is used for what Swazi designed it for.I have a Swazi ONE TUFF MUTHA coat and it is superb. I use it for winters in the hills. I do not use it in less inclement times as my pack will wear the water proofing unnecessarily . I have a lighter coat for "summers" etc but I wanted something better which is why I got the Torrent jacket. Compared to other walking coats out there, even expensive ones, the Torrent jacket is head and shoulders above all of them and in a class of its own. Now if Swazi do a mark 2 Torrent jacket, all they have to do is to make the ONE TUFF MUTHA in the Torrent material and it will be an even better jacket.For anyone thinking I am knit picking a truly good coat, bear this in mind. I live in Ireland so when I buy a Swazi coat, I pay to have it shipped over then I pay hefty import duties, so I feel entitled to have my say. I could buy other branded coats but Swazi coats are superb even If I use it for something it was not designed for.
