Dislike the expense, but I believe that it is worth the price. The best sharpening system that I have ever used. Follow the instructions and a great result will happen.

Sharpening stones grid on the v-block when setting at 15-18 degrees when sharpening my Santoku knives. System does not seem to handle lowest degree settings without interference

As an older person who's hands are not as steady as in days of old, coupled with the fact that maintaining a consistent level is key to great sharpness, my hats off to you and this jig!Id have to deduct a lald star for the fact that the knife although securely clamped in the fixture, even using light pressure on the the traveling rod, the edge still reflects! Otherwise superb!

The sharpener is exceptional quality it gets most of my blades almost hair whittling Sharp,after using the leather strap, I run a blade over my denim strap I made but it gets in that much sharper, point being, completely unnecessary that's just my OCD, but yeah I don't get any knife even if it's completely damaged you can get it good as a new as long as you know what you're doing but for the most part since I've had this for a year it only had to use the rough edge a couple times to reprofile but otherwise I take my knife and run them on the medium grit and then the soft ceramic and they stay sharp a few swipes each, I had to get a nick, out of my Kershaw analyst last night so I had to grind it down flatten it out basically I ran it on the hard grit 10 passes each side already had an apex back then I went over to my whetstone ran it on that for a minute then the medium on that and then went back to the soft grit, and then soft ceramic until it got to perfection ring on the leather's dropped bunch ran out of the denim strap anyway not here we're doing Sharp as that's Overkill but to put it into perspective I can take a cigarette I can literally cut chunks out of the filter literally out of the fiberglass you can see where the cut was made and I can literally shave the stragglers, little pieces of fiber like a shave my arm in one pass if I wanted to like this thing works it's awesome! For the money I challenge, anyone to find something better especially being at Walmart it's 30 bucks worth it all day!

My favortie tool to keep the edges sharp and the work quick.

I use the 220 grit belts the most. They seem to be the best for my knives

I have had my Ken Onion elite 2 now for about a month and I have to say that Im very impressed. This new version is much more convenient and easier to use. I love the way the belt changes are simpler and adjustments are a cinch. My knives are sharper than ever. Wife loves the fact that now I can keep her kitchen knives and scissors sharp too.

I watched one YouTube video and sharpened my whole knife block like I was a professional in about 30 minutes...10 out of 10 would recommend

I had the original Ken Onion knife and toolSharpener. By good recommendation on passing it off to a friend before getting my new unit the Ken Onion Elite MK2, I must say my friend is happy and I am blown away with the MK2. I love the different options it has for various sharpening preferences. Everything about the unit feels strong! The only thing I can really think of is to make a jig that slides up to the belt to rest the knife on to get a 100% accurate edge. However, that would take some of the fun away. Its a great unit, just buy one!

Prefect for a bench top sharpener . Allows me to get the angle precise across the whole cutting edge ! Would highly recommend!!
