Ugly Stik Gold 661M Overhead Rod 6ft 6in 8-12kg 1pc
Good little rod for the money. I fish it with a little Penn Fathom 12 overhead reel for snapper with bait. I wanted this length and medium action so I could use it with sliders and inchiku lures in a pinch as well. Haven't done that as yet but it seems bendy enough in the tip and along the blank that it could be used for that.
I've also used it to strayline baits down a berley trail reasonably effectively. Won't be fishing this rod in particularly deep water over 40 metres say (doesn't have a gimbal knock either) as the medium action wouldn’t suit a really heavy sinker, but it seems perfect for the Hauraki Gulf up to that depth.
Would also be a nice little rod for kids with a level wind reel perhaps too.

Jarvis Walker Powerod 703TBH Spinning Rod 7ft 10-15kg 3pc
I bought this for bait fishing primarily. I paired with a 4000 bait runner style reel and 4.0 justron. With this light line I can cast a long way and I've mostly ditched my surfcaster. I really like the white colour as I usually fish at change of light or night. I also took it up to Fiji and used it for casting poppers with a spin reel. It worked well and had enough grunt to keep fish out of the reef. A great all round rod for bait and casting hard lures.

Jarvis Walker Air Strike Elite 702 OH Slow Jig Rod 7ft 2-4kg 2pc
I bought this as a cheap rod to get into slider fishing. I have been very impressed. The only other slider rod I've used was a shimano Kaos. It's not as sensitive as the Kaos but hooks up fine. So far it's caught a lot of snapper and a few over 5kg. It also caught a 1.5m hammerhead. I paired it with a Kastking Sparticus and 20lb braid. About $120 for the lot. I'd recommend as entry level set up for kabura.
