Ocean Angler Tungsten Flea Micro Jig 28g Pure Silver
Became aware of these lures at a talk by Fishing Guru Mark Kitteridge. Initial scepticism because he is an employee of Ocean Angler. Drifting in settings such as the Motuihe Channel these things are magic whether using a sea anchor or not. When casting ahead of the direction of drift the 28 gram size gets to the bottom in time and therefore the fishing zone as the boat draw level even when the current is quite strong. Mainly Snapper, Kahawai and Mackerel caught. Two comments. Firstly I have 4 of the colours sold. The outer coating takes a hammering and after just one session of full on snapper fishing. To look at them after this carnage they seem to have lost a lot of their sparkle but still seem to catch fish. Secondly these hooks seem to occasionally snare the slimmest piece of tissue around the mouth and I have been amazed I have actually landed some good sized snapper despite applying a modest amount of drag. However I have also lost some good fish and so if away from foul ground would suggest lower drag settings and let the fish tire itself out more than you may otherwise.

Newer units with better specs. But as a replacement unit in my boat this was excellent value and worked well.
