I bought this combo about 6 months ago and I have been really happy with it. I have used it off the rocks, Surf casting and spinning when the Kahawai were running, and it is great for each application. The rod is really light but tough and is fast action.

it was my first rod with a penn 850sm spin fisher lined with 50lb braid and was jigging for kingfish and hooked and landed a 40kg kingi. my only down point is with my experiance of this rod is that the internal plastic of the guides broke quite easily
