We wanted to connect a NMEA cable from our Honda BF50 outboard to our Lowrance Elite FS-9 fish finder so we could monitor engine hours, cranking voltage and other useful engine diagnostics, without having to purchase specialist instruments for our (small) console. In theory we didn’t need a NMEA backbone but we found the Honda’s NMEA cable terminated in a male plug which couldn’t directly connect to the fish finder. Suitable looking adapters were easily found but at mind boggling prices so we decided to go with this kit from Marine Deals. We created a simple backbone with drop cables to both the fish finder and engine but the network didn’t light up until we added the 12v power line (also included in this kit). So it turned out to be the right choice for our situation.. we’re enjoying the ability to display a great deal of engine info on the FF screen. As usual the goods came next day - Marine Deals is always our go to fishing and boating supplier.

Purchased this long line set. The traces came pre made with these type of clips. They clipped on nice and easy. When we retrieved the long line only 11 traces o the 25 remained. This is when we realised the trace would unclip with very little help. When we got home tried to see if we were doing something wrong but concluded, either poorly made or poor design.
Also the rubber holders only take 15 traces. Highly recommend spending more on getting a good trace holder and a long line reel with rod holder and handle for winding. The anchors are a waste of time.
