Awesome little sharper

Delivered safe and sound! Looks amazing and cannot wait to sharpen all my knives!

Serves all my needs for mindful maintaining of your outdoor knives and axes,, even honing of large curved blades like a khukuri. For larger knives, you hold the knife stationary, establish your angle by eye and then move the sharpener away from the edge. I've been hand and eye sharpening and honing for over 50 years, carry a small ceramic rod hone with me EDC. IF you HONE when the tool STARTS to get dull, you SHARPEN far less. Use only enough pressure to make the diamonds cut, let them do the work. The ceramics can be cleaned with a dab of Bar keepers Friend cleanser on a rag. wipe off residues and dry thouroghly. Clean diamond surfaces with some dish soap , rinse, DRY completely by dabbing with a cloth and then blow dry with a hair dryer until the plates are no longer wet and slightly warm to the touch. This will help to prevent corrosion in the matrix surface that is bonded to the diamonds. To check if the plates need replacement, simply stroke very lightly on an old glass jar. If you see a scuff the diamonds are still cutting. Every WS product I have bought has been excellent for its purpose. Without much experience, you'll have a sharp knife in just a couple minutes with this sharpener. I sharpened 5 knives in about 15 minutes.

Excellent tool, I use it on all my knives. Hunting, fillet, cooking and pocket. I love it!

It works great and is easy to use. I went through 5 knives in 5 minutes and they are razor sharp. Then I went through all of my knives and it made even the dullest ones sharp.

Does everything it advertised

After really enjoying the original Ken Onion w/Blade Grinder & using the Mk.2 for a couple months I have thoughts:Where the Mk.2 is better: User interface - the speed control, continuous ON is much nicer. The Mk.1's little wheel & button is clumsy in comparison. Angle adjustment is greatly improved with the dial & gauge. The addition of the 3 position pulley for adjusting how convex the blade is a bonus but more on that later. Lastly, the clearance of the belt is better. I was sharpening a Leatherman for a pal & the Mk.1 could only sharpen 1 side of the blade.Where the Mk.2 is WORSE: Belt changing. Not sure how Work Sharp messed this up so badly, You often have to move the convex pulley just remove a belt & put a new one in. Total PITA. Mk.2 is also bigger, bulkier & makes the Mk.1 feel kind of sporty in comparison... not really a complaint.Bottom Line: Changing belts on the Mk.2 is a PITA but has a much improved user interface. I have no problems making any knife RAZOR sharp & mirror polished. Work Sharp has made a product that even a dummy like me quickly learned how to use. I enjoy this sharpener so much that I am happy to sharpen my friends & neighbors knives. It's relaxing & people are always impressed/thankful after getting their knife back sharper than they've ever seen.

Works as advertised. Simple to understand. Great for a small knife sharpening side gig or hobbyist.

After using the previous Ken Onion until it couldnt go anymore, I picked up this new version. I like it better that the previous version, and works great at putting an excellent edge on knives and tools both.

Prefer these 2 x 3 rigs over the 1 x 6. Less tangles. The rigs themselves work great
