I use these fishing twizel/tekapo canals caught a few salmon with them up there. I don't use the weight that comes with them. cast them out on a light weight let them sink, then slow retrieve.

I've owned this packraft for about 8-months now and have completed multiday expeditions with it. I've been really impressed with the quality versus the price and how versatile this craft is. Coming from a whitewater kayak background I've even managed to surf and flat spin my packraft on our local surf wave.

In comparison to some more expensive designs I like the warmth of having a fully enclosed cockpit with the spray deck compared to self bailing options where you tend to sit in water. This Marine Deals packraft is slightly slower than other designs but is more stable in whitewater making it ideal for those who are getting into this mode of transport. It is also slightly heavier but the material feels more robust than the extra lightweight options.

On a recent 40km grade 2 river paddle with my packraft fully laden for a 2-day walkout the T-Zip gave access to heaps of storage in the tubes and the paddle, while a simple design, was more than adequate for the job. On more technical water I would probably swap to a whitewater paddle but the 4-way split paddle supplied with this raft is great to carry in my pack!!

In summary a great package to get going with and I'm looking forward to more adventures in mine.
