My kids are excited about history. They love the pictures, the text is at the right reading level for several grades. The workbooks, map book, timeline book, story book, and the student pages are great enhancers and the kids enjoy doing the exercises.

We are enjoying the Notgrass History like no other American History before. Very happy.

I think the literature questions should be in both workbooks. I only bought one of the workbooks because it was suggested that both workbooks weren't needed especially for a fifth grader but I also wanted to do the literature component.

Hi Lisa, thank you so much for choosing Notgrass History. We do plan to add literature review questions to the America the Beautiful Student Workbook the next time the curriculum is revised. In the meantime, we offer those as a free download on our website: https://history.notgrass.com/content/america_the_beautiful_literature_review.pdf
If we can help further please email us at help@notgrass.com or call 1-800-211-8793.

I have been using Notgrass for 4 years now. I love the curriculum. Although a certain number of writing assignments are mandatory for every student there is a choice in most units for the creative and artistic to use their talents too. I hear my kids talking about things they have learned and even though it challenges them sometimes they seem to truly enjoy the process with this curriculum. I like that there are three subjects combined and they can use their skills in a comprehensive manner instead of each subject being separated and unrelated to one another. The cohesiveness makes it easier to teach and easier to learn.

We really love your curriculum! Our oldest is doing American History and our two younger ones Adam to Us. We really appreciate how there are so many subjects packed into one. It is a great help for me. We also enjoy the end unit projects.

My oldest used Uncle Sam and You for 8th grade and loved it. This year I have a 6th grader using America the Beautiful and a 9th grader using Exploring America. We love how the curriculum is laid out and the literature selections are wonderful. We plan on using Notgrass History throughout high school. I also love that there is little planning with Notgrass, it’s open and go!

We just started using this curriculum so it’s a little too soon to give a review. But I will tell you my kids really like it so far and enjoy doing history now

We enjoyed our Notgrass American History so much that we automatically wanted to use the World History Notgrass offers.
However, while at our local homeschool convention, our daughter chose to look at all of the great options other vendors had. After reviewing everything available, she knew that Notgrass was THE choice.
Thank you for this engaging curriculum - our daughter wants to learn and looks forward to each lesson. Quite frankly, we are enjoying it as well.

I love everything about Notgrass History: The easy conversational style of writing, the stories that seem to be out of the mainstream ordinary, the constant references to God as the author of all history, The beautiful illustrations, the occasional unsuspected humor, the adaptability to many ages, the review books, everything.
The map book may be at the top of my favorite list. My second and 5th grader were able to easily do the map book because the words were already typed neatly. I'd say that I wish I had used Notgrass long before now, but I am actually more glad that I have discovered something so refreshingly new in my 23rd year of home schooling.

We love Notgrass! The only thing/improvement would be to provide a workbook of some type for homework review questions. I end having to retype all the questions (with spaces for my child to answer the questions). It takes several days and lots of paper and ink to produce this myself. Do you think you could provide such a resource in the future?
