OCTOHUG is a really unusual and captivating bead. The design is very clever with the combination of the sterling silver octopus and the gorgeous glass orb nestled in the tentacles' grasp. This is quite a large bead which suspends on the bracelet from the head of the octopus while the glass hangs below. There is wonderful oxidized detail on the skin as well as in the dark, inset eyes. The colour of the glass ball is a surprise as this is a 'blind bag' bead. Mine* has lovely light blue swirls that look different as the glass moves, depending on the light. I love it! There is a nice weight to this bead which can be worn both on a bracelet or necklace. The meaning behind Octohug is dark and mysterious - the octopus represents our dark subconscious protecting our spirit. I love to pair this with my other OHM sea creatures as well as some light & dark themed beads. The box art is also really lovely with this piece and includes a certificate of authenticity for the serialized, Limited Edition bead. *This bead was a gifted from OHM but the review is my own. I am definitely pleased to have this beauty in my collection and know I will be styling it in my ocean & spiritual themed designs. It is a significant bead that fits really well on all my bracelet and necklace styles. Very versatile!
