Love this hoodie so far would definitely recommend.

I have tried many different kinds of men’s boxer briefs and always came away unsatisfied until I got a pair of the paka underwear. The underwear are incredibly comfortable and they are not too tight. I highly recommend them.

TL;DR:
It's not worth the money (to me) due to sizing, fragility & function.

I was slightly obsessed with the idea of a versatile & lightweight midlayer that wouldn't make me too hot, would be fine if it got wet and could go without washing for the length of a small backpacking trip while being comfortable and stylish.

This product hits some if those points, but not all:

Overall, I would call this a "comfort" layer, best served as a very expensive hoodie for lounging around the house or daily walks and not my answer as an indispensable backpacking apparel option - it may be great for a campground, though.

The loose weave provides nearly no warmth or wind blockage, so it needs a shell over it and I'm terrified to throw it in the washing machine, due to the stories from other customers.

There's also something strange going on with the sizing.
For context, I'm 6'3", 250lbs with large shoulders (not fat) and the XXL lays nicely on my frame, if a bit loose.
The Hoodie fits me very comfortably in the chest, shoulders and abdomen, but the sleeves & hem length are COMICALLY long - to the point that I'm embarrassed to go outside wearing it!!
It's like a young boy wearing his big brother's hockey jersey. 😆

Anyway, it's very, very comfortable and luxurious, but easily snags on things, so it needs to be treated very carefully.

I've worn it on about a couple of dozen easy to mid-exertion walks on the Oregon Coast (it's "winter" here, so rainy) and it still doesn't stink!

One thing that I have been impressed about is the hood, which stays right where I put it and doesn't get in my eyes or feel like I'm wearing blinders. 🏆
Poorly designed hoods are a major pet peeve of mine and the bane of my existence, haha.

To summarize, it looks & feels fantastic, but don't expect performance when it matters.

Recommendations: tighten the weave up a little and PLEASE fix the ridiculous sizing issue.

I don't mean to sound like I'm running PAKA down in this review; I love the idea of this company and have worn Merino for many years and support innovating more intelligent clothing.

I have other pieces from PAKA that I'm still trying out and hoping for a more satisfying purchase in those areas.

I hope this review has given someone my honest insight for a transparent decision when considering purchasing The Hoodie.

I’d kinda had it with sweaty underwear on summer motorcycle tours where packing light is a priority. These Paka briefs are idea. No sweat. No stink.

Fit perfectly, don’t bunch up in my boots. Soft, easy care; dry on a rack. Look great poking out of the tops of my boots

I tested it by driving on the highway at night when it was 20 degrees and I didn’t feel a thing. I only had the Paka base layer shirt under. Should hold up on my camping trip.

This is the softest t-shirt you will ever wear! It doesn’t lose its shape or hold smells. 10/10 will buy more!

Wore my new Paka crew neck to walk the dog and while skiing during this polar vortex on the east coast and I stayed so warm! It’s so cozy. Will definitely be buying more.

I just wore this for a thirteen mile hike in very windy Patagonia. It kept me warm, cool when I was sweaty, and protected from the sun.

It’s soft, comfortable, and looks great too.

Wearing a backpack pilled the back quite a bit, but my hope is that a pilling brush can fix that.

I bought the hoodie for my boyfriend for Christmas. He’s a Carhart guy - he loves his flannels and jeans - but his PAKA hoodie is one of the most “fancy” things he owns and he wears it out on our dates. It’s so soft and his hugs are even more cozy when he’s wearing it.

Overall I love my Paka hoodie. When I first got it though the sleeves were SOOOOO long as was the hem. The fit was definitely more for men. I decided to take a leap and machine washed it several times hoping to shrink it. (Ok per care instructions.) Eventually I got it to where it fits pretty well. The main issue that remains is the constant piling. I’m not sure I’d buy another one due to these issues.
That said, it truly is light, cozy and warm - great thermoregulating.

Everything Paka that I own are my favorite items. High quality pieces that are comfy and warm. I wear mine hiking in below freezing temperatures and I always feel fine. I've lived on a tropical island for 15 years, so it has been hard to adjust to cold temperatures. Paka has allowed me to find joy in the outdoors on the coldest of days. The Hoodie is also cute for wearing out and about. Please bring blue back in stock 😁.

I purchased this as my second Paka Apparel sweater. I have The Hoodie and love it. I wanted something without a hood and ordered this. It is a little heavier than the Hoodie, but feels wonderful. It’s so soft and warm that I love it. You can wear it over and over again without washing, and it doesn’t absorb odors. Ive washed it once after weeks of wear around the house and haven’t had any issues (be sure to read washing instructions. Never out it in the dryer!) I am waiting for other colors in my size to come in to order another one.

When I first opened the box and put this on my first thought was "this isn't very warm." I was expecting it to feel like my puffy jacket, instant insulation that you can feel, like the sun shining on your back. I felt like I wanted to send it back, I paid good money for it. But I did like the feel and texture of it, so I thought I'd give it a chance. I've worn it for 3 days now with a long sleeve underlayer. The temperature was just below freezing, but Sunny. I call this unconventional comfort because it does let you feel the coolness coming through it. But it seems to have a limit of coolness that is allowed through. It's like a sports car where you feel more connected to the road, but not as comfy. I'm wearing it hiking today with a long sleeve cotton shirt underneath. The temperature is around 40 and I'm very comfortable. Again I can still feel that it's cool out, but it only gets to a certain point, not at all uncomfortable. I'm not sending it back.

I really enjoy all of PAKA's products. This sweater is so cozy. I really enjoy wearing it.
