This jacket manages to be both very light-weight and also as warm as many "coats". The pockets are perfect for me, and the ability to zip up around my chin really adds to the temperature range I can address with this jacket. I haven't tried all the layering possibilities yet, but wearing this under a snowboarding shell promises to keep me warm in any cold conditions I am likely to encounter. So far there hasn't been any warm weather to test this, but just around the house, the breathable lining and insulation seem to mean that I don't overheat quickly. Did I mention this is now my favorite jacket?! My only reservation is that the zipper doesn't seem as smooth as I might like. Hopefully that just means it is heavy-duty and durable, and time will tell.
