If you’re always going to reply to people that doubt authenticity with “...we buy from reputable stockists...”, maybe your stockists are the problem. As I said in my original review - this isn’t an accusation, merely an observation. I have since been to Leamington Spa and purchased another bottle of Joop and already we can see and smell a MASSIVE difference. (We had a pre-planned engagement in Warwickshire).

I’ll put this one down to experience and £50 down the drain.

Original review : Something just isn't right. I spent £50 on three different fragrances. I've only opened one and I'm not very happy so far.

I've been a Joop wearer for decades...and one thing I always find, is that Joop is either always sold out, or too expensive. So to find it in stock and relatively cheap at Perfume Direct was a blessing...or so I thought.

Anyone that wears Joop, knows that the smell is unmistakable. Whenever I've bought Joop in the past from other retailers, it always smelled strong, pungent, crisp and fresh. I could usually smell it a day later, even after having a shower...and on any soft furnishings that I'd sat on. But the bottle I got from Perfume Direct has none of these qualities. The texture of the liquid seems off, it doesn't even smell like Joop...it smells how you would expect it to smell if you bought it from Del Boy and Rodney!

The smell barely lasts an hour. I put some on, got dressed and ordered an Uber. On the way to my destination, I could barely smell it. My partner even asked if I'd forgotten to put some on. Basically, it seems watered down/not authentic. But please be aware that this is not an accusation, but merely an observation. I haven't open the other two fragrances, but I fear the same outcome.

In the current climate, going out to return them just isn't worth the risk to me or my family.

I highly doubt I will be returning as a customer.

Speedy delivery. Excellent customer service. Perfume smells exactly like I hoped it would. I’m a very happy girl. Just ordered some aftershave and car scent so fingers crossed they’re just as good.
