Quick shipping and no issues with the ammo

This won’t be an entirely accurate review because I am still figuring out how to get my Type 14 to function smoothly. The ammo has a nice pop to it and the shot groups are quite tight if I am able to shoot consistently. I think the charge could be a bit more hot as some of rounds had not pushed the bolt back completely in recoil. I plan on getting more of these as I hear consistently good reviews for these loads and hopefully have a better experience once I get my Type 14 running smoothly.

Shoots great in the ol 99, been wanting to shoot it for 50 yrs, finally got it from pops when he passed, was really worth the wait since I played with that 99 since being a lil kid, never back then Did I think I’d shoot it, thanks Steinel !

Very smooth loading and firing.

Picked up a 1935 Nagoya Nambu thats been in a collection and not fired for at least 30 plus years. Within a week of bringing it home I grabbed some Steinel ammo and hit the range! Didn’t have any issues at all. My only problem was I should have bought more when I was there!

Great looking ammo and good specs. Price is exceptional compared to similarly made ammo. Makes shooting a tolerable expense.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to purchase Jap 7.7x58 ammo for several years. My father was a gunsmith, and he specialized in sporterizing old military rifles. He had customers come visit him traveling hundreds of miles with their prized old military rifles so he could work his magic on them. This Jap Ariska was brought back from WWII Pacific theater by a friend of his and was my father's personal hunting rifle. It is beautiful, and unless you examined it closely you would never realize it was a military issue. He even hand carved the stock with beautiful checkering, and engraved the action. He loaded all of his own ammo, carried half a dozen separate rounds in his pockets and changed ammo as he traversed different terrain. 3 rounds at 100 yards he could cover with a silver dollar he carried when he hunted or was on the range.

He died in 1960. I have had his rifle since he died, along with a small stash of his hand loaded 7.7x58 ammo. The original ammo is long gone, and I was down to half a box of reloads from a box of Norma I purchased in the 60s.

I sincerely appreciate the effort Steinel went to to get the ammo to me.

This was my first time buying 45-70 for my 1895. I had bought 3 boxes of ammo from Steinel and a few other boxes from various competitors. Of all the brands I purchased the Goldilocks Loads were the best I had for regular shooting. They have a kick to them but really no more than a 12 gauge. I normally only do target shooting so I don't normally need big games rounds. I know, I know, probably some irony doing plinking with 45-70 but it works for me.

I will add in the current climate, Steinel is also the only manufacturer offering 45-70 at any reasonable price (or stocking it). The trade off was a 5-ish week wait but to be fair there is a large banner on the front page advising of lead times. A few weeks ago placed an order for another 200 rounds of the high power so hopefully that arrives soon

As high quality ammunition as one could hope to purchase. Consistent quality from round to round. Feeds and ejects reliably well and well matched to the original 6.5 x 50 mm round used by the Imperial Japanese Army. Robust PPU brass should be good for many reloads if you so choose.

Very fine ammo, was great to be able to shoot my Arisaka and have high quality brass to reload with.
