Tried lots of strings over 2 years. Stringjoy is as good sounding, maybe better, than most others. I can order different types, custom sets and an individual string as I choose. Everything is online and you can call and talk to a human during business hours. Shipping is fast. Subscription service is available too and that reminds me to change strings. Found String Joy while looking for a wound G string. Tried a set on my Les Paul and have never looked back. Love the Broadways.
I recently put a set of 11/52 Phosphor Bronze naturals on my acoustic. I was instantly amazed at the sustain and the sympathetic harmonics. I play a note and the other strings join in with their own harmonics, as though they just have to join the music. Brings out the very best in my old Washburn Prairie Song, she's never sounded so pretty.
I put them on all my electrics, acoustics and base (got a piano set?). No reason to look anywhere else.

Well, this is a little bit embarrassing as I told another string maker some time ago that they made the best strings I had ever tried (acoustic, PhB & 80-20). But you guys came along and offered the same types in CUSTOMIZABLE sets! -Which the other company did not, unless you live in the UK. And your strings are at least as good. And the damn things won't wear out, my last set of Phosphor Bronze still sound as sparkling and alive as they did maybe 2 months ago. Caveat, I am not a 8 hours a day gigging artist or fanatical woodshedding practice-aholic, but a good 2 hours per day playing and drilling. Fingerpicking too, no flat pick thrashing so of course anyone's mileage varies- but your strings go much longer than others I've used. Customer service to a fault- sometimes your algorithmic generated follow-up email is more neurotic than my parents used to be. No biggie, actually a little amusing. I also love that you have your own tension chart, really necessary when putting together a custom set as I often do- tweaking and re-tweaking as necessary.

I choose Stringjoy strings whenever I have a guitar that needs a special gauge different than the standard gauge offerings. I will also choose Stringjoy when I want to give a specific guitar a little something extra. Regular strings are fine for some guitars, but the great guitars deserve the Stringjoys. I also love that you can ask for support in choosing a specific string gauges for a certain application, which I have found very helpful. Lastly, being mail order isn't a deterrent because they ship and arrive so quickly. Stringjoys rule!
