So my background as a professional luthier makes me a little bit more picky than some. On the other hand, I have a lot of experience listening to and analyzing string response and differentiating between the variables that can affect tone. So, I have a REALLY nice custom-made guitar with a 25” string length and 35 year old (1982) Joe Barden pickups made by Joe for me when we were working out of the same basement. I play medium hard using a Blue Chip heavy pick doing jazz and rock. The 9.5 plain E strings and 11.5 B strings give me an “extra” 15% in tone quality. I love the smooth, “bell-like” quality these strings give. The elasticity is just right for my guitar’s setup. I can’t speak to other folks and their needs; heavy-metal “shredding”, for instance. I don’t play that so I don’t know. But for my uses (Clapton, Garcia, Beck, Martino) these are the very best I’ve found and the difference is noticeable.

I really liked most of the sounds coming from my guitar(fender dreadnaught) right off the bat. Much fuller and rounder than my previous strings. Some of the higher notes took a day or two to get used to hearing as they were not quite as crisp as my previous set.

Good morning, I put the 10.5's on my 335. I had it set up for 11's but it was a little too hard to play. The 10.5's work much better for me. The tone is excellent, intonation good, even though I haven't taken it in for a set-up yet. They sound and feel better than the Mangan's or the Thro-bak's. The .50 on the low E sounds much richer. I also bought a set of 10's for my Anderson Tele, with a 13.5 B, and a .018 wound G. I'll be placing another order when I go through the last 4 sets of Thro-bak's as the 13.5 B-string sounds better than the .013 on a normal set of 10's. I hope ya'all continue to stay in business. Keep up the quality! AJ.
