I honestly feel that these and the 61mm are the best pics I’ve ever tried. The five on them is just enough to allow me to strum comfortably. I can hear the difference in the tone as well which I never realized was an issue before. I’m sold on these bad boys.

Love the balanced 11-50 set! I also spent some time with 10.5 balanced set & swapping around plain strings from the 11 balanced set, but overall the balanced 11 set is a better fit for me. Thank you Stringjoy for having a simple & easy way to try out whatever gauges I want!

OK so I never write reviews… Seriously. I I've been playing guitar all of my life and I have spent a good part of my life on the road. I suppose I have used about every kind of string out there. Some I have like more than others. But I never really thought any particular type or brand of strings would actually make a "game changing" difference. Strings are strings, right? Wrong! Full disclosure: I wound up at string joy not because I was convinced they had the most superior string but because I use custom gauges and I'm tired of the expense and hassle of piecing sets together one string at a time. I simply wanted to find a good reputable seller Who would make my sets and send them to me on demand. I found that in StringJoy. What I did not expect to find was the best darn strings I've ever used in my life. What the heck? I can't even believe I'm saying this. I am sorry but I really cannot fully put into words what I have found with the strings. The best I can say is that they are sweet sounding and mellow perfectly tunable (and they stay in tune exceptionally well) and perhaps most important of all, they project exceptional evenness of tone volume across all ranges. I am totally blown away. I plan to stay with StringJoy for the long-haul. Nuff said.

I'd like to start off by explaining to you how much of a skeptic i am. I am really skeptical. So you can only imagine my skepticism when i read that these strings never go out of tune. Also considering the fact that i got such high gauges, i assumed that they were going to wonk up really quick. It's been about 3 weeks since i've had these strings and i am thoroughly and whole-heartedly impressed and satisfied. The sound of the strings can only be compared to perfection my good friends at Stringjoy, so without further a due my review.....100000000 out of 10. Bravo

I find your strings stay in tune and stay in pitch longer than any strings I have played. I highly recommend these strings!

Fantastic product. I have used other string cleaners in the past, but your string conditioner is by far the best! It makes the strings last longer by keeping them clean, and also helps to make your strings feel smoother which makes it easier to play. Even my wife, who is a violinist, is impressed with your product. It removes the rosin deposits and dirt from her strings in no time, plus it doesn't harm the lacquer of her 200 year old instrument. And it smells SO good...highly recommended, not only for guitars!

I'd never used a jazz pick before but I had just purchased a semi-hollow jazz style guitar and thought, why not complete the package?
I ordered the Jumbo 1.5mm midnight black picks as I'd always liked a heavier pick. Here is what I found:

First impressions:
Shock at the difference between a jazz plectrum and a regular plectrum. I was so used to a certain timbre from a pick and didn't realized how much something as simple as this could drastically change the musical landscape. I've found that introducing amplification greatly affects the impact of the muted tones this pick is capable of producing. Perhaps this is the case with any jazz pick but since this is my first experience with one, I thought I'd include this observation. This means the pick really shows its abilities with my acoustic guitar. The jazz tones it was capable of inducing there were muted and soft and very much what you'd expect from something labeled as a jazz pick.

The texture of the pick felt good between my fingers and it was easy to keep my grip. It is not rough, but not glossy smooth like a standard Dunlop or fender plectrum.

The size is labeled as "jumbo" and this may be big for jazz picks, I don't know, but the size was comfortable and familiar to me. Transitioning from a standard plectrum to a jazz one was, in my opinion, made easier by the fact that the jumbo jazz pick is about the same size as a standard pick.

The Pros:

Supporting a "mom & pop" business. Small businesses are the backbone of our society and being able to support one, even with something as insignificant as a plectrum purchase, is important.

Texture. As mentioned above, this pick has a bit of roughness so that it is easy to grip. I love that because my playing style is a little heavy and a shiny pick moves around too much in my hands.

Tone. I love the muted and subtle tones this thing is capable of. Makes one guitar sound like a completely different guitar.

The Cons:

The muted tones. I know I gave this as a plus, but this is also a very specific type of plectrum designed for a specific purpose. If you want something you can use in a wider variety of situations, this isn't for you. If you aren't looking for a duller, smoother sound when plucking, this isn't for you.

The color. I cannot tell you how many times I have set this thing down and lost it because I couldn't see it. While bright neon colors are necessarily the answer, I would like to see something contrasting to one of the most popular colors of the musical equipment I tend to set my picks upon (my amps, recording equipment, and studio desk are all black).

Final Thought:

I am pleased with my purchase and am excited to discover some other picks in Stringjoy's lineup. I will definitely be purchasing their plectrums again.

Coming from someone who plays 9 mother fucking strings on a guitar neck as thick as a cricket bat, it's rather hard to get a solid string set with a nice gauge range, for a multi-range guitar.

Originally I'd be blowing money for a guitar string set and a bass string set, just to get close. I remember deciding on an alternative and researched custom string sets. See if it'll be worth it for not only my playing but my wallet too.

Not only that, but I use my 9 string differently, and my tuning is different to any other 9 string guitarist I know of so far. So this means having to be really specific on the gauge.

After hearing nothing from the first company I contacted. StringJoy was up next, and I am glad I didn't hear anything from the prior brand. Not discrediting them, but because These strings, are the bee's knees for this heavy as fuck instrument.

String Joy welcomed me as a customer with open arms, helping me further my understanding of what I'd want gauge wise. And even going out of their way to help me with an amazing offer for single bass strings before it was even an option on their store. That blew me away.

This company is hands down, one of the best businesses I have ever affiliated with in regards to communication. They will help and take good care of you. They will talk to you personally and they really demonstrate their passion for strings.

With the strings, by comparison to what I use to use prior, these definitely have a longer expiry date, and the freshness lasts longer. The original gauge I used for the super low string, was so loose it sounded like the guttural chili fart I just made. Going up gradually from a .090 to a .115 made a HUGE difference and the low notes sound clear and solid.

Even after trialing some low strings which unfortunately broke (due to the smaller tuning peg, it works but I just need to apply it slowly and let the string stretch) These guys were happy to help me further. They really are a bunch of awesome people.

I honestly can't think of anything imperfect about these guys, except maybe the only fact that I'm in Australia and have to wait a while till I get my strings, which still come in reasonably well, but hey, If that's my only complaint? That really demonstrates how great StringJoy are.

I'd love to promote these strings, still intend to do a youtube review. And I'd recommend them to anyone who wants a string gauge outside of the box, or even just some really good, ass-kicking, beef supplying strings.

10/10 would bang, film, and re-watch.

I prefer Flat wound strings, but I found these to be rather quiet and I really enjoy their tone. Being able to experiment with custom sets,(for the same price as regular sets), is a hoot!

I like the fact you can make a custom set, they will even help with recommendations. One string they recommended did not fit and they mailed a replacement out to me for free.
Shipping to NY on the original order was a bit slow but the replacement string got here faster.
Overall positive experience and the strings are great quality. They stay in tune longer and are tighter than other strings I have had (I like that). This is one of the only places I found that has the thicker gauge strings you can order and I love the way they sound. The resination on harmonics with these strings is amazing.
