I was initially dubious at the possible rates of investment quoted by VCL (for cask whisky), but after much research I was able to confirm the reality of their offer. I was provided with sufficient information, both from VCL and through links to outside sources, and at no time did I feel pressurised, or hounded to make a decision on investment.

Once I had made the decision to invest, I received follow-up emails and documentation within a few hours. I had 7 days to proceed with the investment, and even after that I had a further 14 days cooldown period. Documents were signed via a secure document service, and I was able to check banking details, etc. prior to proceeding.

It was a surprise to receive a beautiful on-boarding gift (samples from one of the distilleries I invested in), through the post (with hard copies of my investment certification) within four or five days.

I'm now the proud owner of 3 casks of whisky, and I look forward to seeing how they develop over the next 5-10 years. Considering the inflation rate is about 5% more than any investment rate I can get in a bank, this is the only way I can see of not allowing my hard-earned money to shrink in the current economic climate.
