The gambrel has a simple elegant design that makes it easy to use and cleans up well. I process some wild game and if a hunter forgets to make an incision for the gambrel the slightly pointy design makes it easy to poke through and hang the game without using a knife.
Also it seems fairly heavy duty and I’m hoping it will last for many years to come.
