I bought this product for my husband, my own wild Willie, and he has been using for a few days now. Overall he is mostly pleased. We both like that the Willies Beard Butter is made from real ingredients that we can identify and pronounce. He says that the scent is a little bit too antiseptic. When I smell it from the little tin (quite small...think like lip balm size) it is a very mild odor and in my opinion not offensive. However perhaps when it is on your beard and under your nose all day long it is more intense. Other than that my husband is enjoying the beard butter. He feels that it effectively nourishes and conditions whine also protects his skin from the harsh winter elements. I thought the oa aging was very trendy and attractive. Ok the number on fact that I love this product by Wild Willies, this Beard Balm is made in the US, handmade at that, in Georgia! You don’t often fine products like that, most or made overseas and packaged in the US, so I must give a big thumbs up to Wild Willies! You will receive a nice little tin filled with organic ingredients like: Shea Butter, Yellow Beeswax, Almond Oil, just to name a few. All of these ingredients combined give a product that is healthy and easy to apply. My sons has used and has noticed a major difference. He works it into his beard after a shower, it not only helps his beard but it also works on the skin underneath. His skin is not irritated and his beard is hydrated and healthy, doesn’t look wild and all out of shape. No artificial colorings or fragrances which is another plus because he is sensitive to different smells.

It has Shea Butter, Yellow Beeswax, Sweet Almond Oil, Apricot Oil, Gold Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Argan Oil, Emu Oil, Tamanu Oil, Vitamin E, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Cedarwood Essential Oil, and Rosemary Essential Oil. It does make his beard softer, you just don't want to use too much or it gets a little greasy.

This balm is made from a mix of essential oils that have a softening effect. My husband had been having problems with his beard being to rough and scratchy so I have been getting him to try different products to help soften it up. I live in the Mountain West where winter means sub freezing temps, lots of snow, and outdoor activities include ice fishing, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing. I must admit, when I first saw the size of the can of Wild Willie's Beard Butter I was a little dismayed. It didn't take me long to realize that a little goes a long way. The consistency reminds me of a lip balm, and you really don't need a lot for it to do its job. After just a few applications my beard does feel softer and I think it looks nicer as well. My husband has such a hard time finding the right product to care for his beard. He suffers from extra curly facial hair that is often unmanageable. The first thing I noticed when I received this was the nice packaging. The butter comes in a little cloth bag, and you can smell it from the bag. The smell is a very masculine smell, without being too overwhelming. Inside is a nice tin that contains the butter itself.

My husband has been using this for a few days now, and I have already noticed a major difference! The butter has done an extraordinary job of taming his beard, allowing his to straighten it more easily (I was surprised at how much longer it is looking now!), and it is so soft! Wild Willie's Beard Butter is top notch! This comes in little burlap sack in a half oz, steel container. I will admit I was worried about it's size and how long it would last but with this stuff, a little goes a long way. My husband has been using this daily since we received it about a week ago and has barely put a dent in it. It does have a chilled butter consistency due to the shea butter and beeswax, but isn't waxy at all. It's easily pliable and goes on smoothly. The smell is earthy and natural; I could really smell the cedarwood essential oil as soon as I opened it yet it's not a strong or over powering scent at all, which can be expected with natural scents. It has left my husband's beard smooth and smelling manly. I love it, he loves it. It's a win-win all around. I would buy this again for family and loved ones!

I received this product in the mail a few days ago; I must say I am impressed.

From the packaging to the feel of the butter between my fingers, the product screams "premium quality."

I have attached a picture of the packagin, and as can be seen the manufacturer did not skimp to make this product like high end.

Similarly when it comes to the product itself they have pulled out all the stops.

I really love the tea tree smell - its very refreshing when I use the product in the mroning.

The product leaves my beard feeling soft and strong. Even though I didn't expect it, it also makes my longish beard a little more manageable to groom.

If I had to come up with one "Con" I would say that the product is a little on the oily side, and that it is kind of hard to get off your hands.

Overall I give it a 9/10! will definitely buy again!

Up in Alaska, it seems like you can't turn around without meeting a guy with a full-on beard. Let me also say, I am not one of those women that is totally into the the whole Lumbersexual type. But it is hard to date in AK and not date a man with a beard. What I typically don't like about them is that they are scratchy and irritate my face when I kiss a guy. Who wants that nonsense? So I found Wild Willies Beard Butter and saw that it was made out of essential oils (which I love) and ordered it for a good friend of mine. I opened it up and it smelled just like a man in a can aka woodsy! And I liked it.

In the morning I put it on his beard and it seemed to appear wet for about an hour. It kept his beard in place all day! By the end of the day, the beard oil had worked its magic and his beard was smooth and silky! Didn't irritate my face when I kissed him either. WIN! So yep, I'm now a fan of Wild Willies.

This was well packaged and arrived in a timely manner. The tin is a small metal twist together, it was labeled and the directions, you need a magnifying glass to read them. I applied this butter to my damp beard, rubbed it in as deep as I could. I liked how thick it is and it melted when I scrap some off into my hand.

The second product I have bought from Manskape company, and I haven't been disappointed yet. The .5 size is pretty small, you can, with a medium beard expect about 5-7 applications. It does seem to soften the hair, and has a strong woodsy scent. That might come from the tea tree oil that is in it.

This is a really nice, high quality product. It arrived in an attractive canvas bag, with a drawstring, and the company name printed on it. The butter itself, is more balm-like, a hard mass, you rub your fingertips on to get a bit of it to massage into your facial hair. I used it on a medium length goatee and it took quite a few rounds of application to get everything covered...which some people may deem a "con", but I see it as a pro, as you definitely do not over use, or waste, the product. The tin it comes in, is a screw top, which makes for easy opening and closing. It has a light, unoffensive smell, I definitely detect frankincense in there, it's a bit woody and musky, but again, a very light smell, and virtually none after applied. It's moisturizing and definitely soothes the skin and makes your facial hair look very healthy, shiny and attractive. I received this product at a discount for a review.

It's a decent product and the first beard balm I've tried. It absolutely softens the hair, relieves itch, and helps it keep a shape. Those effects last at least 12 hours. I applied it yesterday in the afternoon, it's 8am now, and my beard still feels great.

The scent is the only thing that is a detractor and is the cause for the 4/5 score. It smells like cheap furniture cleaner and, thankfully, isn't very strong at all. I find it weird anyone would like the smell. The scent is gone within 15 minutes if that. I rubbed a little Kenneth Cole reaction cologne in my beard and it killed the scent of the balm. I wasn't after something to scent my beard so I will quite likely be buying this again.

Overall - give it a try. It certainly does the job and quite well. Just be prepared for a slightly odd scent that dissipates quickly and is easily remedied by cologone in the typical amount you would use.

One month update; I've been using this stuff daily and have been getting nothing but compliments on my orange beard. It definitely has a bit of a shine and luster to it. I was out with a female friend of mine during the day and she couldn't stop looking at it. Kind of the point in really taking care of one's beard.

I got this for my husband to try on his beard. He usually keeps his beard fairly short - about an inch or so - but lately has been letting it grow more.

When he uses this, I think I can tell a slight difference in the texture of his beard; it seems a little softer. I hope it's not my imagination. We should do some blind testing.

The smell is nice, but stronger than I expected. When he first applies it, it's pretty noticeable, though it does fade after a while. It's a pretty good smell - herby and minty - I just wish it were a little less pronounced.

This beard butter comes with a convenient pouch which makes it easy to carry around and keep the oil from getting on other things. The smell is not overbearing or smell like a cologne. I think its a nice smell and our son who tested the beard butter for us liked it as well. He used the oil and when I feel his beard it is much softer after using the butter for a few days. It does not leave his bread with a greasy finish as it absorbs into the skin and hair. He uses very little per application, which is nice because a little bit goes a long way. If this beard balm were in a larger quantity or a different application it would be perfect for my boyfriend. As applying the balm to his entire face is time consuming with this butter and requires a bit of the product. A spray would be ideal. He uses it for rough days when his face is agitated as it relives his skin. He would have to wash his beard specifically to help alleviate the dryness and it was becoming a source of frustration but the Wild Willies beard butter feels just like that, butter, it helps hydrate his hair which aids in avoiding redness as the follicles don't become ingrown. I got this beard butter for my husband who just recently started sporting a massive beard. He has been wanting to try some beard butter. He has been pleased with the performance of this product. At first he wasn't sure how much to use and it seemed kind of hard to get a good amount on his fingers for application, but once he started using it more it softened up and was easier to apply. There really is no scent to it, he wished that it would have a clean or manly scent to it to make his beard smell good. My husband said that it lasts long and his beard feels soft all day. It requires daily application to keep his beard soft, it doesn't seem to really condition it long term. Overall he is pleased with the product and is still using it daily. This stuff is quite good. I found the size a little surprising. It's a very small tin of balm. Really ideal for keeping in your pocket for the mid day frizzies. The smell is a bit overwhelming for my taste, but it's not fair to rate a product on a personal opinion. Instead, I'll base it on the results intended. As a balm it uses Shea Butter for a sealant which is all natural. Much better than petroleum jelly. Petroleum jelly doesn't dry as quick as Shea Butter which means the Shea Butter seals in the conditioners on the hair. The balm also allows for some shaping. I'm known for a wiley beard, so I go through balm quickly. While this is a high quality product, I don't think i could pay this price for this size tin. I've attached some photos to show you.

I love this stuff. I have one other product I have used religiously and this one may win me over as my regular change up. This softens up quickly in your fingers and goes into your skin and beard with ease. The light cedar, woodsy scent is pleasant to the nose and not so strong that the guy behind you in line can smell you! The butter also leaves your beard manageable and shapely when used with a brush and I don't get many fly aways during the day...unless it's real windy. My beard is thick and longer and it works great for me. I like to use it with the beard elixir by the same company. It is a little more expensive than other brands, so I will use it a little more sparingly than other products, but I really like this one. In fact, I keep a shaved heaved along with my beard and anything left over on my hands after applying to my beard goes on the noggin - keeps that skin from getting dry too!
