Flat Copper Post Cap w/ 3/4" Lip
We installed the copper post caps yesterday and they looked amazing, until it rained last night. The caps are no longer shiny and have dark rain spots. Boo, we didn’t realize they’d oxidize so fast.

Hello Jeanette! Our copper caps are polished and left uncoated to allow the patina process to naturally occur. Any sort of direct moisture contact such as rain will accelerate this process. You can always use bar keepers friend to polish them back up and coat them with an outdoor metal lacquer. This will keep them shiny for years to come :)

A nice surprise was the solid wood base for the copper top. Much nicer than the big box hardware store units that use stapled wood trim that tends to separate allowing the joints to open up. The copper itself was a heavier gauge than I expected. Very satisfied.
