I was looking for a bunk bed for my kids that would save as much space as possible due to their small sized bedroom. I found this company via Google. We booked an appointment to see the show room (just FYI, the show room is really small and only had about 3-4 samples of beds. Also, there’s no store/company sign outside building so that gave us a little sketchy feeling).
We wanted to see the Bel Mondo Twin Over Twin/Twin XL Bunk Bed Set but
unfortunately, they didn’t have it as a floor sample. Elena, the representative of the company, was very helpful and nice. She answered all of our questions. It’s because of her honesty, kindness, and professionalism that we decided to make the purchase. Looking over the instruction manual, we decided to pass on the $700 white glove delivery. If you’re not good at IKEA instructions, I highly recommend paying the white glove service.
The bed did take a while to come. We were told the bed was ready to ship in a few days to a week, but it actually took almost a month to come and the desk was delayed for two months due to damage during shipping.
There were a few frustrating hiccups and challenges during this entire bed building project: First, the manual provided is not the exact instructions to the bed itself. We couldn’t build the bed right away because the hardwares for the upper bed were missing. So that delayed the project. Then the hardwares for the lower bed were incomplete and one of the bed pieces needed replacement due to damage during installation. So that delayed the project by another week or so. Then the company sent us the wrong replacement piece. On top of all that, every time we work on the bed, both my husband and I had to find time off from work because you really need two people since the bed is very heavy. So that delayed the completion of the project even more.
I swear, Elena is an asset to this company because the amount of money I paid for this bed, we shouldn’t be going through all of this hassle, headache, and trouble. We really wanted to throw in the towel and return the bed at one point, but Elena helped us get everything straightened out and fixed. She was always responsive and polite and kind even when we were frustrated.
We purchase the bed in April and we finally got all the parts we needed and completed the bed (it’s now June).
Overall, we love the bed and the material feels high quality. The bed is HEAVY and definitely not flimsy like some beds from stores like IKEA or Amazon. The company itself needs to improve their packaging Quality and Control and organization.
Without Elena, I would definitely rate this company way lower.
I am giving this company 3 Stars for now. We are seeing how the bed holds up.
