The whole chicken is deliciously fresh, as long as we are able we will never buy whole chicken from a grocery store again. The one slight downside is the chicken does not come with the giblets and we use them in the gravy for roast chicken or we roast them and eat them. Giblets are nutritious and tasty.

This is definitely the freshest and best tasting kidney I've managed to find, anywhere. I began eating organ meat for health reasons, and so I often find the kidney and liver meat I eat unappetizing. With Heartstone Farms, the meat is actually pretty delicious. I also notice I feel a lot better, physically, after eating. I'll definitely be purchasing beef heart, liver, and kidney regularly. As an aside - if you're making kidney for the first time, be sure to clear the white fat in the center of the organ, as that's apparently a rather fragrant tissue. Cheers.

We've traveled and lived across the United States and had our share of grass-fed beef and the quality of Farmer Dan's meat is among the best. It's the reason why we invested in a quarter share for the first time. In addition to the high quality the quality of the delivery and shipment was top notch. Heartstone Farm's grass fed beef tastes amazing and the price is great. They offer a lot of flexible options for annual purchase based on your consumption. I've purchased a quarter cow each of the last two years and plan to do so again this year. Dan himself delivers the beef to me down in NH. He packs them in boxes so they are easy to stow in the freezer. I highly recommend them! 2021 UPDATE: Still going strong with Dan and Heartstone Farm 3 years in! The beef has continued to be delicious while maintaining competitive pricing, so I'll be sticking around. Despite what sounds like a growing customer base, they still remain very communicative regarding deliveries and in answering my questions. They are also conscious about the packaging material they use while ensuring the goods remain frozen solid! They've continued to be very gracious in securing special cuts for our family gatherings. I sent the Crockpot Box to my stepson, daughter-in-law, and their 2 young kids in NH as a holiday gift and they were excited to receive it, along with the other small Maine business theme presents we sent this year. We're all missing visiting in person and sharing meals, so I thought this healthy taste of home would be a great treat. My daughter-in-law, who is a foodie, like me, was thrilled, and said the choice was spot on. The other kids got Heartstone gifts too and my oldest stepson said that he and his daughters loved the sirloin steaks in their box. I think these gifts might become a tradition now!

I bought two Maine Boxes as gifts for family in suburban areas. They were delighted to receive the variety of cuts delivered well packaged on time as promised.

The kabob meat was cut and packaged well. Left very little prep on my end! Succulent, and I cut a few down to have all roughly the same size while trimming off very little fat, membrane, or tendon. Nothing wasted- my dog and I ate the roasted scraps. No complaints. Fired up the shashlik (from the Russian side of the family- a kabob specific park grill) and the marinated meat, onion and garlic skewers took the mesquite and rosemary smoke beautifully! Will be ordering a lot of this! Nice work, Dan.

Couldn’t wait to try the hamburger. Made a 2lb meatloaf It was Delicious didn’t tell my wife what meat I used . She said it was the best meatloaf I ever made . The New York sirloin steak melted in your mouth . Pan fried it on a cast iron pan with a little grass fed butter awesome. Took the fat and cut it in small pieces and friend it up like bacon with the leftover juices . What a healthy treat that was !

I know there’s some “big “ companies out there that will deliver grass fed beef and more, but since I’ve found these guys , I’m very very happy ! The price is right , and the meat is excellent. The skirt steak I use for Mandarin Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry , or it’s perfect for Fajitas. I do ALOT of cooking and recipe development for healthy recipes - I’ll keep buying this !

We used to buy our organic beef from Whole Foods and Costco, but decided to try the meat directly from Heartstone Farm and we've never been happier. The meat has very good flavor and goes well with many different dishes. We ordered two Crockpot boxes to send to family in Virginia. We didn't have the direct experience and this review will have to be based on the replies we received. We were the Christmas heroes this year! Delivery was prompt. Both arrived fully frozen but one had its dry ice evaporated, so just in time. Immediate cooking ensued, apparently, and reports came back that the flavor and quality were terrific. Very pleased to hear of such satiated family, and will definitely order from Heartstone again.

Very happy I took a chance on this order. I ordered the meat and chicken box. It came very well packed and still completely frozen. The compostable cushioning was impressive - sustainability is one reason I avoid ordering food online. I appreciate the effort to minimize environmental impact. My husband raved about the NY strips. He’s super picky. The shaved steak was great, very thin - it was like pulling bacon strips & not all squished up every which way. I will continue to order. It is expensive, but I am committed to buying more food locally (I live in Maine) and finding a local meat supplier was next on my list. This food is very high quality & better for you and delish. I had been searching around for a quality source of chicken liver for some time and stumbled across Heartstone Farms. After looking at their processes for raising livestock, I knew the quality would be there. My first order of chicken liver arrived in just 2 days, the packaging was excellent as the chicken liver arrived still perfectly frozen. I have since had some of the chicken liver sauteed and deep fried and it has been delicious any way I cook it. I will definitely be ordering more when I go through my current supply, and would recommend that anyone looking for quality meat consider getting it from Heartstone Farms, it is definitely worth the price.

Tried steaks from Farmer Dan for the first time recently, and my wife and I were blown away by the flavor. Incredible! We were hoping that cattle raised and fed in this fashion would make a difference and it certainly did. Our taste buds are still tingling!

The meat was good & fresh. The company had great communication with me when ups couldn’t deliver as expected because of the New Year, which was fine for me. My slight disappointment was I wanted My meat custom cut in thin slices but they were precut into big chunks in vacuum sealed packs.

I ordered this Holiday Sampler along with other items. The idea of a sampler is great. Packaging and shipping were superior and everything arrived frozen solid. First rate idea! HOWEVER there was no $25.00 discount card included in my order. Problem yet to be resolved. Perhaps because a different "box" was packaged with this one? Disappointed for the person to whom I was going gift the discount.
