Recently bought beef hearts from Farmer Dan. Hearts are hard to find. I found these from Farmer Dan in Maine. Great quality fast shipping. Also bought some of their hamburger patties. Great quality. Support our small farmers.

Wouldn’t get again

I wanted to love these tenders because I’ve been very happy with everything else. These are not as pictured, they are very thin almost like slivers of chicken. I wish I had taken a photo. The chicken “tenders” cooked fast, still very tasty and the color of the chicken was what I would expect from a healthy happy chicken so that’s good. As much as I love everything else in my order I sadly won’t be getting these again.

With the soaring costs of groceries and dining out I decided to purchase meats directly from a farm. My first purchase included this flat iron steak which was absolutely delicious! The Way Beef Used To Taste

Delicious and nutritious!

While searching far and wide for some good quality grass-fed beef, I discovered Heartstone farm in Maine. I got the Ancestral blend which is ground beef along with 5% liver and 5% heart. Communication was great, delivery was great, and the product is awesome!

best tasting ground pork

I love pork for meals but it’s hard to find a clean product. I have finally found it here at Heartstone Farms. I’m trying lots of different recipes now too. I will always feel confident in ordering it now for my family.

Exceptional Meat Quality

From preparation to dining, everything with the steak is clearly quality. When preparing the meat and trimming it, even the connective tissue and sinew seems different from any meat I’ve used before. I’m assuming this is due to the fact that it is not mass farm raised, and actually grass fed and field raised. And it made a hell of a Guinness, Irish beef stew.

I’m not going to beat around the box, this subscription order exceeded my expectations! Everything in this meal was such a good quality! The natural flavor was so yummy! The only item I didn’t care for were the fajita cuts. In all fairness I haven’t had any from anywhere else I enjoy. I’m sold on Heartstone! Grateful for the meat thermometer so I could ensure my steaks were cooked well!

Sirloin Tip Steak

I guess i’m just not liking the whole “Grass Fed” beef thing! I just had it an hour ago and i do not like it? I’ll take Certified Angus Beef all day over grass fed! And in fairness to Heartstone Farm, i have recently bought grass fed beef from Hillside Farm in Ohio and its all the same to me. Tough to chew and not much flavor at all! Sorry 🤷‍♂️

Short ribs

This was our second order of short ribs. It is a great weeknight dinner, cooked in the crockpot with barbecue sauce, and am planning some other preparations as well. I hadn't had short ribs in more than 20 years and never prepared them myself, so I have nothing to compare it to but memories of my dad's cooking. I am happy to have them on the menu, and even happier to have them from Heartstone Farm. I have been happy with the variety and quality of the meat products we buy from them.

Excellent quality, tenderness and flavor. I had chicken sausage, porterhouse and bacon. Everything was beautifully packed too. I only wish the porterhouses were a little thicker like 1 1/2 inches. At least as an option as I prefer mine thicker.

The beef has the best flavor. You can add seasonings or eat it with salt and pepper and every time the dish will be excellent.

Steakburgers are fantastic!

I keep buying these when I get a chance. They are delicious with a dollop of butter-- add some Emmentaler cheese. We like them on "cloudy" buns. I will continue to purchase these delicious burgers because they are the perfect size and the flavor is out of this world.

Today I slow cooked these short ribs according to a recipe. Smelled wonderful and were very tasty, however I will not order them again as there was an abundance of fat and grease and a lot of waste. Sorry.

Ordered the Sampler box and I must say, the ground beef was excellent!

Spatchcock easy and fancy!

I just had to offer my praise for the spatchcock chicken and the ease of preparation. It took about 2 days to thaw in the refrigerator so plan ahead. I then mixed white miso, a heaping tablespoon of crushed garlic, and a sliced lemon, all of which I rubbed under the skin of the chicken. I then added thin pats of butter on top of the rub. A little sprinkle of salt and heavier sprinkle of pepper on top of the skin before placing the chicken in a large well oiled (about 1 tablespoon of avocado oil) cast iron skillet. Oven was preheated to 425F and I roasted for 1 hr (checking the temp in the thickest part of the breast). I then let it rest in the pants for 10 minutes. It looked amazing and better yet, was the best chicken I ever roasted! So easy and I would serve this to anyone!

Trying natural grass fed beef

My mission was to find all natural meats without all the garbage. Also supporting small farms is high on my list. There are a couple local farms in my area, but they are quite a drive away. This company was one of the few that ship to my area, so I gave them a try. Package came fast and still frozen. I've been trying out several cuts, and so far am pleased with everything. Included in the boxes was some literature explaining where the cuts come from and cooking suggestions. The steaks are leaner than grain fed, so you have to get used to adjusting your cook. Some trimming of silver skin might be necessary, but no big deal. The ground is awesome and I've been using it up in several dishes. I recently purchased some pork and a beef brisket. Pork chops are nice and thick with that dark pink color. Much tastier than the super market chops. I'll be setting up the smoker soon for the brisket. Mouth's watering just thinking about it.

By far the best chicken breast that I have purchased and tasted.

Very Good Sausage!

I have been trying to find a good tasting Sweet Italian Sausage from a small farm for a while. This is the absolute best tasting sausage. Gluten free and no fillers, just good taste!

Trying to find good chicken with skin and bones is tough in grocery stores. Here at Heartstone Farms I can get all I need delivered to my door. It’s perfect for grilling!

Better than Costco

We recently moved from buying our meats and burgers from places like Costco or the supermarket to a subscription based model with Heartstone Farm. I grill year round and make burgers at least once per week for my family. We have been very pleased with the quality, size, and taste of the 1/3 pound patties. Every order we have received has shown up frozen solid and packed impeccably. The only suggestion for an improvement I would have for this item is to change it to a pack of 4 since I have a family of 4. I routinely cook 6 patties and will save the extra 2 and use them as part of my meal prep for the week. If you are looking for a great burger this is worth a try, I do not think you will be disappointed.

Love this cut

I prepared this steak with just salt and pepper and cooked on cast iron. The quality is amazing, very tender and a perfect portion for 1. I am looking forward to marinating the other steak (I ordered 2) but can say confidently this is a very versatile cut based on the first.
