One day I believe that one will be released that is compatible with Pistol Driven (JAKL) or even AK Variants...but until then, this current Black Beard X is a ABSOLUTE GAME CHANGER!!!

The Mantis X10 has greatly increased my accuracy with pistols. Overall, this product has saved me money when considering how many rounds of ammunition it would have taken for me to get in that many practice shots. Shooting live ammunition is still more fun than dry fire, but the Mantis app tries to make the dry fire practice as fun as possible with all of the different drills that it has.

Pink Rhino/Mantis Customer Service

My .45 Pink Rhino stopped working. I shot Mantis an email. They asked me for some photos and questions. They did say that some Kimbers, which is what I have, can be hard on end caps. Any how, Mantis promptly shipped me a new replacement and it works just fine.

I like these laser cartridge. Be aware that if you use extended firing pins, these may not work on guns with regular firing pins afterward. Customer service was great though. They replaced it quickly.

Pink Rhino from Mantis was great.

I bought the Mantis Laser Academy from Amazon and the 9mm cartridge was so dim it would not register on the target. I bought a .45acp cartridge and a .40s&w cartridge from Mantis both worked great. After explaining the situation to Mantis they sent me, free of charge, a new 9mm cartridge that also worked great. Mantis has great customer service.

Great dry fire training aid

I couldn't be more pleased with this product. Now I don't have to choose between dry fire without a magazine or spending half my training session picking up and reloading snap caps. I wish I had found these years ago--they are worth every penny!

Incredible training system.

The Mantis X training system is an invaluable resource. I completed Basic Marksmanship thru Basic Combat (4 courses) before going back to the range. The difference in accuracy was evident starting with the first shot being a bullseye using a pistol I had never fired. The ROI on this system is incredible considering today’s ammunition costs. You cannot go wrong with Mantis X - it will make you a better shooter and save you money.

This product actually saves hubdreds of dollars

At first the cost of this product made me hesitant to buy. After using this consistently I am a believer. The training one can get with just 15 minutes a day puts you head and shoulders above someone who isn’t training using the mantis Blackbeard system.

Great product. User Interface needs work.

Love the product. Works as advertised. It sometimes records racking the slide as a shot, which is annoying, but not entirely unexpected. The in-app user interface feels a little labored, and difficult to navigate. I feel that a detailed tutorial would be a great addition.

I have over 100,000 trouble free rounds using the x3. My shooting has greatly improved with Mantis dry fire practice. It has been great for diagnosing problems with trigger press etc. I am upgrading to the x10 and looking forward to the new features.

Inexpensive way to enhance shooting skills

The system is easy to use. Download the mantis app, place the mantis device on the barrel of the gun. Follow the directions on the app and select the many options available for practice. I have a long way to go to get the most out of the device. I'm looking forward to practicing and increase my skills before going to a gun range for live fire. You can even have live fire practice with the mantis device.

I have used the entire MantisX System for pistol training. Look, ammo isn't cheap, so any system where you can get feedback on what you are doing right or wrong, without using live rounds is is saving you money and improving your skills. MantisX is easy to set up and use. You will see improvement in your shooting from using it. You can set it up basically anywhere and be training in minutes. There are various training modules so you won't get bored with doing the same thing over and over again. It is actually fun to use and you will become a better shooter.

Great tool and great way to bond with your wife

Picked my Mantis Blackbeard up about a week ago and spent a good 5 hours yesterday using it. My wife was so intrigued, she got in on the fin as well. Highly recommended, as within minutes we saw improvements. Still a lot of features to go through, and looking forward to learning and growing.

I am enjoying being able to learn in home and then see improvements at the range. I have coupled my Mantis X and Last Acade8with a Coolfire training system. This is the best in home training you can get.

Great Personal Training Device

This thing really helps improve efficiency of your dry fire experience and makes it more productive. I was able to do much better at the range with higher accuracy that before after just 2 weeks of training. It is excellent for days when you cannot make it to the range. This feedback helps improve your grip, stance, pressure, eye placement and this eventually becomes muscle memory for proper shot placement. I highly recommend it.

So, I have a military, hunting, and recreational shooting background, and let me just start by saying this product is a game changer. It’s very easy to use and very intuitive, and incredibly versatile. It works on; pistols, rifles, shotguns, and even bows. Works for dry fire training (not for archery obviously) and works with live fire. With my background I have undergone extensive training, but as anyone that has ever trained at anything knows, there’s always room for improvement. The feedback that this system gives you will help increase your accuracy and build/improve marksmanship fundamentals both at the range and at home. With the cost of ammunition this product can easily pay for itself in a day. I would highly recommend purchasing a Dry Fire Magazine that fits your firearm to accompany the Mantis system. It will make your time much more enjoyable, and will keep you from teaching yourself any bad habits (repositioning your trigger finger after every shot, racking the slide etc.) This product is not inexpensive, but it is worth every penny and after having it for over a month and using it daily I easily see its value at twice the current price. This is the best training system I’ve ever used. Mantis customer service is outstanding. So after your purchase you will have support. They even mail you free patches after completing their courses. Truly a company that stands behind their product. If you’re on the fence about it because of the price, just do it you will not be unsatisfied. If you’re on the fence about it because you don’t know if it works as advertised, it absolutely does.

Great training tool

I purchased the Blackbeard X system in conjunction with the 10X after speaking with CS at Mantis about what kind of training and drills I was looking to accomplish. The BlackbeardX is a neat concept, and lets you focus on the good habits by reseting the trigger for you, while not incorporating the bad ones, pulling the charging handle after each shot. Pretty easy to use after setting it up and letting the calibration occur. This system isn’t perfect, it does not give you the recoil factor, I feel like the laser drifts after getting it aligned to the platform sights or optic. I do feel like my shooting speed and accuracy is improving with more repetitions with the BlackbeardX. They also have some calculation and send you a notification that you have used it enough to have paid for the system in regards to buying Live Ammunition and taking that many shots, it didn’t take long to get that notification.

Forget about using a laser carriage for dry practice. This is the tool you want to invest in to improve your shooting.

This is my third pink rhino cartridge purchase. I now have .380, 9mm, and 45ACP cartridges. I love working with the laser academy so much I now use it to practice with all my pistols. I introduced my cousin and his wife to it and they purchased the academy and several cartridges for their guns as well. Thank you for a safe way to practice at home that also saves me money.

The is a superior training system, I work at an indoor shooting range. I personally use it to become more proficient and I also use it to train other shooters. I can’t brag enough!

I was recommended Mantis X 10 and it is amazing. It totally delivers if you follow the app and practice, practice, practice. I returned to the range after doing dry fired training for a couple months and my groups are 100% better.

Mantis X10 Elite

Recently got this equipment. Slowly getting into it. Had to order more of the self adhesive rails for magazine mounting. The sticky rail didn’t stay on after letting sit for 2 days. After a week it fell off. Overall the Mantis is very helpful and I am still trying to learn all the specifics of each training available on it. One other fault is that on YouTube videos I saw it said it came with the tripod to hold my smart phone but it did not so then I ordered one of them. I only use it on pistols and probably could have gone the laser academy instead but the live fire benefits on the X10 were most likely a better choice.

If you own a firearm you need Mantis. It will change it from a paperweight or a wall ornament into an actual, useable tool. Seriously -- buying a gun and thinking it's useful without training and feedback is just wishing. Hands on, in person training with an instructor is necessary, but you can't go to classes every weekend. Mantis is a cost-effective, convenient and comprehensive way to keep sharp. Buy a firearm, buy a Mantis. They go together!

Game changer!!

This Mantis X is a game changer. I struggled with my accuracy, mostly low left shooting and continued to do the same things hoping for different (better) outcomes… with no change. The X pin pointed things I was doing incorrectly right away. It’s true, this system had me shooting better in no time at all. I love the dry fire and live fire option. For live fire I find I use less ammo but my range time is way more efficient. The app keeps me firing everyday. It is so well thought out and fun! Thanks guys!!

I bought one and loved it so much, I gave it to my son and very recently bought another for me. Working in Law Enforcement, the Mantis system immediately affected the quality of my shooting for the better of course. I’ve always scored well, but my score has increased significantly. Well worth the money especially if you’re required to qualify every year.

Some kinks

Using this on my Walther PDP and my AR and there are some mild kinks when dry firing like how the trigger reset can sometimes be counted as a shot which messes with your score. Despite that though it's an amazing product that I use constantly to pass time and improve.

I’ve used similar products and not had the kind of success with my dry fire training as I’ve had with the Laser Academy’s accuracy, ease of setup and use, and realtime feedback! This is simply an amazing training aid. In only one session I’ve been able to identify grip issues that need work and it is helping me with sight acquisition and alignment. This is going to be the best training and well worth the money! Every part of this kit is well made, works great out of the box and has in depth how-to for setup and pointers for various aspects of training. The targets are heavy duty and work well with the stands provided which are also great. The only thing it doesn’t have is a live instructor. What an awesome system and a great way to train!! Great training tool!

I purchased this system in conjunction with the Blackbeard X system after speaking with a CS rep and talking out about what I wanted to accomplish in training. It is very easy after getting through the initial set up to link X10 to one device and the Blackbeard to another devise and be able to transition from riffle to pistol and back again. My wish list: Integration between the too capability. Mantis to get into the Dry Fire Magazine segment for pistols and offer more manufactures and models. I feel like the laser drifts after aligning it to the platform reticle, clean that up a little. All in all a great tool, customer service is helpful, they keep track of how many shots you have taken and send a notification when you have used it enough to have paid for it in terms of buying that many live rounds.

We all know the cost of ammo is high. Getting the 45 acp laser helped save a lot of money on ammo. I can shoot 50 to 100 rounds a day essentially for free after the first session of 150 rounds.... love that it's compatible with other laser systems too so I can play at my frieneds houseb

Great Addition To Your Practice Arsenal

Have used the Mantis Laser Academy for some time and found the X10 to be a great complementary addition to my practice arsenal. As a relatively new CC shooter these systems work together to help you improve your draw and marksmanship without range costs, although I’ve found the X10 very helpful when I use it during my range practice as well.

The day the set arrived my son's and I spent a couple hours doing the same exercise over and over. We were having a blast because we started getting super competitive and my wife thought we were nuts. I will say that it has shown me a few flaws in my shooting as well so it is a very useful and worth while tool to have. I highly recommend it because it's fun but practical.

Went from someone with no handgun experience to shooting in the 90s in less than a month. my first time at the range wasn't very pretty, then I received the Mantis X. My second time ar the range everything was in the the high eights to a couple of bullseyes at 25 feet. My friend I went with whonhas been shooting for years was highly impressed and he was a bit jealous because of my superior handling and shooting. I give all the credit to the Mantis teaining programs.

Mantis has been absolutely phenomenal! I wasn’t confident in my pistol shooting AT ALL until i started using mantis, and within 2 weeks I’ve already finished the basic marksmanship course and I can easily shoot a small group consistently at 30 yards. There are an insane amount of intricacies with shooting handguns and shooting with a mantis will absolutely train you to pain attention to each one. On top of that, unique drills and sequences keep training fun and new. For every two weeks of mantis, I go on one full range trip and every trip I’ve seen myself improve because of mantis
