I haven't read a better book, outside of the Bible. It reminded me what Christianity actually looks like. It moved me to action.

I am grateful for the profound insight Pres. Eugenia lays out in her book. Without a doubt essential reading for all who live in the West!

Perfect, beautiful round icon of Mother of Perpeptual Helps, remind me to pray n perceive sense of serenity.

Easy to read, practical, and rich in scriptural references and the theology of the Church - the “why”. It inspired me to persevere in these critical spiritual disciplines.

I’m really happy with the new Ancient Faith Prayer Book “Deluxe “. I previously had the paperback version and it didn’t last very long. The “deluxe “ model seems more sturdy. I look forward to using it may years. Thank you!

This is the most intense description of the misery that Jesus endured

The Bible in all is very well put together, however there are Textual Errors (Publisher Errors) compared to the original Septuagint. For example In Gen. 7:3 (OSB) "and the clean birds of heaven by twos, male and female, to keep seed alive on the face of all the earth." This should be listed as Sevens, not Twos, because when Noah sacrificed to God he would have whipped out the Dove Species. The Real Septuagint states in Gen. 7:3 "And of clean flying creatures of the sky sevens" & KJV: "Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens." This needs correction...

It was a private retreat! From the beginning, Fr Jeremy’s soothing delivery makes this difficult subject accessible. His use of colloquial comments give access to otherwise ‘inconceivable’ ideas! From sacrifice as relationship and hospitality, to the divine sacrifice of Christ, we learn the history and development of sacrifice. We will be using this tome for book study and reference for many years to come.

A wonderful, often overlooked book by Fr. Hopko that addresses many social concerns of today.

The Lightkeeper is a beauriful fantasy/romance from a new orthodox author, Sherry Shenoda. This was a great audio book and the narrator is the author which I believe always adds so much to a book because the author generally knows where she wants emphasis or change in tone and what it should be, and Sherry Shenoda has this soothing voice that really goes along with the fact that the story itself is soothing. In a descriptive style that is both beautiful and complex we learn of the lightkeeper the woman who takes care of lighthouses and she moves from one shore to another. I did listen and enjoy the audio book, but it is a book that i recommend reading the print copy while your listening. I don’t think thats necessary or even helpful for all books, but the descriptive story is such that using sight as well as sound will benefit many readers.

This is a great book for anyone of the Orthodox faith, or other faiths as well. It is a bit of a romance but not to the point where it would detract from reading it as a fantasy. Sophia, wisdom, is a character in the book and probably my favorite character. There is so much that is packed into this book, its not a huge book, it is under 300 pages, but it has more stories than many much longer tomes.

AUDIOBOOK VERSION REVIEW "Secret Turning" by Stephen Siniari has been a perplexing book for me. This book of short stories is about the community of the fictional St. Alexander the Whirling Dervish parish. A community to which I had a hard time connecting until the end of the book. For the first half of the book, I didn’t feel much affinity for any of the characters. Many of the stories don't connect with my experiences in the parishes I have been blessed to join. That does not mean that I believe the stories aren’t genuine. Perhaps, I had a hard time connecting with them because there were several times characters and places felt lost in their descriptions. There was clearly a lot of care put into the poetry of the words, but it was all spelled out so exactly there was little room for the unveiling of character. They were what they were described as and nothing else. I could never quite get my head around what the community was like beyond appearances and the direct insights of the story's narrator.
There were moments that genuinely touched me in this book, but overall, it wasn’t for me. That being said, it might be perfect for those who enjoy detailed character descriptions, gritty short stories, and fiction about Orthodox characters. It is fantastic that Orthodox writers are publishing more fiction that is readily available to order! There is so much truth that can shine through in stories, and I hope Stephen Siniari and other Orthodox authors continue to be supported in this work!
A note on the audiobook. The audio tends to be soft, and I found I had to turn it up often to not lose the thread of the story. I am guessing a quieter environment or headphones would help with this.

Excellent book especially for traveling or working. Great quality, a sizeable amount of prayers, good for gifts or personal use.

Change my perspective that psychology need Jesus to teach us how to be healthy.

It was a great book to use along with our Sunday school material.

Loved the content and the illustrations. Bought the books for my granddaughters and another family in our church. We are all animal lovers. Everyone enjoyed reading the book and learning something new . We didn’t know about St. Melangell.

Easy to read and understand.

As a catechumen I appreciate the footnotes. Helpful in learning Orthodoxy.

Great idea for the three year format to see the previous year’s gratification.

So far I’ve found the ideas very helpful and important in my daily living!

Sucha a treasure in this confused and noisy world. A wonderful grounding in everything spiritual and practical for everyday life. Thank you to all involved for producing this gem. I shall keep close and read again and again.
