Thirty Steps to Heaven: The Ladder of Divine Ascent for All Walks of Life
A must Read book for every Orthodox and Catholic alike! I really enjoy this book. Read twice and might read it again during the Great Lent which is fitting to comtempate and grow spiritually and deepening.

Though I am not Orthodox, I learned a lot about the Orthodox faith. The author clearly lays out the basic beliefs, while treating Protestant viewpoints accurately and fairly.

When You Pray: A Practical Guide to an Orthodox Life of Prayer
This short, easy-to-read book is full of valuable "nuggets" and it quickly became one of my favorite books. Many books on prayer are erudite and difficult to read, but this one is actually an encouragement to those of us who often find praying to be a struggle. This book makes a great gift!

Everywhere Present: Christianity in a One-Storey Universe
Some repetition of points but this is good as it's easy to forget. The last two pages are critical to his message of how easy it is to forget God's presence in daily life. That is the real issue for me. He in those last pages reveals 7 points to practice for the awakening to God's reality in life . Of course we won't do them perfectly but

They help us. What more can we ask for? One point is to look out for God's presence each day. Another is to reverently, slowly, prayerfully say a few times a day St Patrick's Breastplate Prayer. Google it and it is there. The shorter version is more helpful. May God's light and direction be with you.

the best book on spirituality that I have read
Time and Despondency: Regaining the Present in Faith and Life
Time And Despondency is a must read. It is, without any reservations, the best (most unique) book on spirituality that I have read in a very long time. Dr. Roccas is a gifted and talented writer. This book is so good that I am now reading through it a second time. Highly recommended.

Ask for the Ancient Paths: Discovering What Church Is Meant to Be
I am so happy I found this book. As a devout Charismatic that has a deep love for the Bible, I started to see some real craziness in the Charismatic churches as well as the seeker friendly churches. I was on the verge of walking away from all of it but I knew that wasn't the answer. I have recently discovered Orthodoxy and reading anything about conversion experiences and the history of the Church I can get my hands on. The way the author describes his questions in the beginning are the exact things that I have been wondering. His writing style is easy to digest and the tone is very respectful to those who are believers in Christ but not Orthodox. The title of this book was so well chosen. There is an ancient path and it's been there all along.

The Ancient Faith Prayer Book
I had this in the kindle addition but wanted the book as well so I knew what it contain. Even though I have two much larger books that contain much of the same information, as well as much more, I wanted this as it is small and would easily tuck inside my purse.

Medicine for the Soul
Time and Despondency: Regaining the Present in Faith and Life
This book is nothing short of marvelous- true medicine for a melancholic soul! Roccas masterfully employs the difficult teachings of the Desert Fathers to light a path for both the Orthodox and Protestant pilgrim in our dark times. I have studied The Philokalia for years, and have never found a more acessible application of its teachings than what Roccas has presented here.

I cannot quite express it, but this icon is truly beautiful. I have never seen an icon of the Theotokos and Christ that match the color and expression of this particular piece. Whoever wrote this was very inspired. Thank you Ancient Faith for providing this Icon for us to bring into our homes.

If You're Scared Of Success: This Book is not for you. As a single, new mom, this book completely opened my eyes conceptually to what I instinctively knew was right. The author comes from an experienced background with his practice, faith and family with lovely anecdotal stories to illustrate his ideas.
I shout it from the rooftops, Facebook and every social media outlet I have available: "this book is a parenting game changer!"
This one, coupled with The Five Love Languages for Children (toss in Bringing Up Bebe and Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules For Life: an antidote to chaos) are the current cornerstones of my parenting strategy and obviously, my daughter is the picture of behavioral perfection. Well, she's only one and a half but I can't fail with these tools in my arsenal-plus a soupcon of prayer and we're good to go! I hope I get to meet Dr. Mamalakis (say that 3 times fast) some day because I will probably shake his hand off with gratitude. I hope he doesn't read this. Because I will.

I have been Orthodox for a decade, and I am really enjoying this book. Khouria Frederica is a marvelous writer and I really enjoy the way she weaves stories and ideas together. She really speaks to the convert experience in America and many times I find myself nodding, recognizing a feeling she;s describing that I;d had also, but had not been able to put into words. She also has a knack for explaining things clearly and succinctly. Her stories are lyrical and beautiful. This is a marvelous addition to the Orthodox bookworld.

Some of my best memories of becoming an Orthodox Christian are wrapped up in long bike rides listening to podcasts from Fr. Hopko. He brought the theology to my ears with humor, passion, conviction and humility. The book doesn't quite do justice to the way his words poured from my hearing straight to my heart. But it's a great gift to have all the podcasts in a single volume for reference, and also to recall this extraordinary man.

Unquenchable Fire: The Traditional Christian Teaching about Hell
Great book. It walks one through the understanding as it progressed through the revelation of Scripture. In the end, it shows that not all are saved from hell. Some will go to hell, and that hell is eternal and permanent. Very thorough and no stone left unturned.
