I am not sure if my son is teething yet, however, he seems to chew on things a lot less when this is around his neck. The quality seems excellent and there is a not between each stone to prevent choking. I ordered the 11" but since my 5 month old is kind of chunky, so it seems a little small. I will probably order an extender soon!
