I bought this necklace for my 2 month old daughter to wear when her 11in didn't fit her any longer. Much to my surprise the 11in was very tight on her, I 'stretched' it out as the website indicated but she seemed very uncomfortable and unable to put her chin down. I emailed Baltic and they sent me an extender for the 11in which now the same length as the 12.5in (perfect size). If you have a chunky baby (mine weighs 13.9 at 10 weeks) I'd go w the 12.5in. It looks beautiful on her and although she isn't teething, she seems to be a much happier baby when she's worn it for the day.
