It's a cute necklace. My son is 16 months old and this fits him well. This would be a better product if the clasp was magnetic, as I worry about the choking hazard at this age. It is just long enough that my son can pull at it and even get it, barely, into his mouth to chew on so you may want a smaller size at 16 months. It is hard to tell of it is helping with teething, but I think it is!
