works great. It arrived quickly and just in time for my young pullets to start laying. I am still working on training them to lay in the nest. I am getting eggs in it every day. I am using peat moss for bedding. It creates a bit of dust and when the wet egg comes out of the chicken and onto the best nest box grill, the egg picks up this dust and it looks like someone drew pencil lines onto the egg. It is hard to clean off. I might need to switch to a different type of bedding. This is a great product!

Hello Janet, If you wipe down the egg trays everyday after egg collecting, this will eliminate the dust lines on the eggs. A wet rag and a bucket of warm water will help get the job done quickly.

Nest box was easy to assemble and is lightweight for hanging.
I am using it for hens who are just starting to lay; they have taken to it easily since they are not learning to nest in a different place.
I would like to see a model that is just a little longer and accommodates more hens without having to mount two boxes in my coop.
It's nice to have clean, unbroken eggs. I hope this prevents egg eaters in my flock.

5 stars for Excellent quality and easy assembly. However, birds are not using the box. I have followed the instructions to the letter. Now wondering if I made the correct choice. Seems these boxes are used extensively and successfully in mobile coops where the birds have no choice but to use it or lay on the ground. My birds avoid the box altogether. Wish I could get a refund, but I bought knowing others had the same problem. Live and learn

Hello, Sorry you are having troubles with the box. It's been our experience that sometimes chickens don't cooperate initially when something new is introduced, but eventually with some persistence success can be achieved. Please give us a call so we can talk about your specific situation. 330-558-1120

We have 13 hens- they lay eggs 5am to 10am, it’s hard for all to get into nest box during the rush hours. Some (2-4) hens lay eggs on floor when they can’t get into box. Changing this is hard-removal of red shade helps, working on adding back the second one after 2 weeks. Quality of product was excellent and easy to install. Will have to insulate outside pick up area for winter. Only issue was the overall price for nest box for 13 chickens. We couldn’t justify larger box and people we called at nest box said this product would handle our flock- yet to be proven “work in progress “

Putting it together was a snap. We had put it together with the collection box toward the rear, but had to reverse it because we got a new coop. Because your product is so easy to assemble, it was easy to partially disassemble for where we needed it to go. The girls have not go to use it yet because to new coop isn't ready yet. But when it is, I will send pictures. Thank you for getting your product to me so quickly. I will most likely order another once my girls are settled. Thank you for making such a super product!

It took a while for the chickens to convince themselves this was a good idea, but now then are believers! Easy assembly, great packaging and prompt delivery. No more dirty or broken eggs. A real winner.

Beautiful box...well made, but after a week of bedding, fake eggs, scratch in the box, and everything else on the list... my girls refused to go in the box. Maybe they missed their partitions, maybe they didn’t like that it was open with screen in the back floor, I just don’t know. My girls picked up egg eating, when we went on vacation, and hoped this would do the trick, but will try again with a new group of chicks in the spring.
