I bought a coin in a protective case and box for a birthday present.
Disappointingly the coin, in the case, had marks on it. I have been informed that this is due to the production quality and storage of bullion coins.

Unfortunately, most bullion coins may have marks as they are mass produced and stored in tubes of 25 coins and are usually bought and sold purely on their metal value. We find the Royal Mint coins especially are more prone to marks and scuffs. We would recommend Perth Mint silver coins as gifts as they seem to have better production quality. Either way, we quality check all coins for major defects, and apologise if it did not meet the expected standards.
