I sent coins to Chard bought from them some years earlier & they knocked 10% off them because they were not popular. My gold cufflinks with 19th century Ottoman gold coins which the internet and Sotheby’s confirmed as being 22 carat was 18% according to their testing equipment!
My previous experience with them had been excellent but evidently their priorities have changed since then which is a shame.

Thank you for your comment. Our prices are based both on the live price of precious metals, our stock levels and current market demand. We currently have a surplus stock of the 20 Franc gold coins which is reflected in our offer price. We also have a deal on these coins at 1% to buy which also reflects our surplus stock levels. We are sorry you are not happy with the prices quoted. Did you contact us via telephone beforehand? We are always able to provide indicative prices by telephone prior to sending your items. We do not like to mislead or inconvenience customers.
