For about 16 years I have purchased Gold Sovereigns for my Wife's birthday. I am British (Plymouth) but have lived in California for 50 years. The transactions have always gone smoothly and when I have talked to Chard employees they have been very friendly and helpful.
The only negative is that I have to use Bank Transfers, which are expensive and cumbersome. Each year I hope that I can pay by Credit Card, as I do for other UK purchases, but you do not accept that method.

I bought 2017 sovereign for my grandson and also 2 x capsules and 2 x cases.
I expected the cases to hold the capsules but they do not, they are just for uncased sovereigns which is disappointing.

We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with your purchase, it does clearly state on the web page when purchasing this particular product that is does not take a coin in a capsule and we do sell an alternative gift box which does take a capsulated coin. If you would like us to credit your account for the capsules we can do so as a gesture of good will.

Their have been severa circulated coin's that Chard's have sourced for myself that have always been in E.F - Aunc condition.
The best of which was an 1887 Gold Quintruple Sovereign & a Double Sovereign of the same year, both are absolutely stunning.
I have also bought many other coin's over the years with only 1 issue which was resolved straight away.
I strongly recommend this company & the service that they deliver, they deserve to have won Bullion dealer of the year 3 yrs in a row as well as the next time that they enter

I recently enquired a nearly purchased a Queens Beasts
1/4 oz gold proof coin that quite clearly had issues with it. If I wasn’t so astute in requesting photos of the coin, inspecting the photos, I would have purchased a coin that I would have returned.
If you are professing the quality of a proof coin you should quite clearly annotate if it has issues, and this particular coin did. An experience like this:
a. Makes me question your integrity as a business
b. Doesn’t allow me to champion your business on numismatic forums
c. Puts into question whether I am willing to purchase any further coins
I hope this honest review will allow for your business to accurately reflect a coins quality, and for your staff to better understand quality assurance.
