The Charlie's team was kind enough to write a thoughtful response to my original review, the language from which I've retained below because it's valid. However, I'm going to flip my rating from 1 star originally to 5 stars simply because - higher prices or not - CCC at least serves the good guys in the CA market at all, and it's not fair to take out my frustrations with the State's restrictions on my freedom on some of the very few folks still willing to support them.
California gun owners get punished enough. Nobody understands the desire to "f*ck California," more than law-abiding gun owners in California. But we didn't vote for these monstrous assaults on our rights as US citizens, we just have to live by them. We already get taken advantage of by our government; FFL transfer fees/taxes at the local gun shop were about $150 in addition to this extra fee levied by CCC, in addition to the extra costs I have to pay to make weapon my less effective and less reliable to comply with CA's other silly gun laws.

I understand your frustration, but for us as a business, compliance with CA requirements requires us to flag your firearm and have a completely different process. We also must register with CA DOJ and get a letter from CA DOJ sent to your FFL for every shipment. Many online gun dealers choose not to send to CA. We choose to make that investment in additional work, a special process that we need to flag and treat differently, and additional shipping for rifles. All of that is extra cost and reduced productivity, and our fee is rather small compared to the work, and the added communication with the customer, the CA dealer and the state authorities. We could choose not to sell to CA. I hope this makes sense. We value our CA customers and only ask that you meet us 1/2 way and share the added overhead.

OCM5 Suppressor - AEM5 clone from Otter Creek Labs
I am very happy with my suppressor. I wanted the Allen original, but this one seems about the same. I waited 3 months and 6 days for the Form 4, so not bad. Charlie send the suppressor to my local gun shop and it was seemless. I am sad to see ya'll won't be carrying OEM any more. I am thinking about going dedicated 14.5" for by Gordy.
