Flat Iron Steak (10 oz)
I tend to buy a lot of flat iron steaks because they work well in so many of my recipes. But even the high end brand that I was buying had a lot that needed to be trimmed from the underside, otherwise it can be very chewy, grizzly and tough.
I saw an ad for Heartstone Farms and decided to try. Lo and behold, the flat iron steaks were on a BOGO promotion.
I bought several and used them all. All were lean, requiring little if any trimming….and very tender.
In the past, my family has bought into 1/4 cow from a local “organic” farmer. I never loved these. The shrink wrap always came loose causing freezer burn and the meat (especially the ground meat) had a weird smell like chlorine.
I am very pleased with the quality of the shrink wrap….it all held up until use. And no weird smell!
I am hooked!
