I found Heartstone through a Google search. I was looking to buy single-source meat that was organic and pasture raised. I have only cooked and eaten the chicken so far, but I am thawing some beef as I write this review. The chicken was very good! I cooked it for almost two hours at 350 and have enjoyed every bite.

The meat itself is absolutely incredible and I mean top quality. However it's to expensive for me to keep up with a monthly box. I loved how all the packaging was biodegradable and easily composted. I hope to be able to afford a subscription again someday. If the subscriptions had been more affordable and/or with more options I would have given this 5 stars. So this is a great product if you you can afford it.

Lauren - Thank you your review and sharing your experience. To be honest, it's a real challenge for us as a small farm to keep our prices competitive. For example, big factory farms will grain feed their cattle to fatten them up so they can be slaughtered at 14-16 months old. We are 100% grass fed, and our cattle don't finish until they are 20-30 months old. That's just one example of our costs of production are higher - and therefore so are our prices. We do accept EBT - which may not apply to you - at our store in Dover-Foxcroft (the government will not allow us to accept EBT online). - Dan

I have been using Heartstone Farm meats for quite a while. My children can’t believe how good the meat is. My son recently ordered from Farmer Dan and is so very happy with everything he ordered.
