I first bought the 10k kit in 2012 and upgraded the battery in 2014 to 30k since I was riding more and further for my work/home commute. That bicycle was sadly stolen along with the 30k battery. I contemplated adding a kit to my 3 speed cruiser and making that my daily commuter. I ordered a cable and front tire kit since I already had the 10k battery from my first go around and it has worked perfectly since I live less than a mile from the places I go, work, groceries, and pharmacy. It's great help on the hills and to get started in traffic. It's light enough for me to pedal well on flat roads. If I ever get a new bicycle for commuting, I'll be sure to stick with a Leeds Kit. Maybe Santa will leave me a 500w kit. Thanks.

your training video on YouTube or instructions should emphasize the importance of front wheel not rubbing against forks, and the EXISTENCE of double wide TORQUE WASHERS that will help. Without the double wide, I could not make it work.

Works great and as described. If you can change a tire, you can install the conversion. It takes 20 minutes or so. I have yet to go the distance of one charge. Sure is fun doing 20 mph without pedaling!

I don't think it is designed very well. I have had nothing but problems trying to get it installed and running. I have not given but after trying many times I am extremely frustrated. It is not a simple five minute installation as the you tube video suggests and if you leave it as loose as they suggest on the video I believe it is serious hazard and prone to fall off. If you tighten it it won't spin. Serious design flaws!

I just bought and installed a 500w kit. The shipping, on-line experience, customer service are great. there are a few customization to be done to get the kit fitted. and customers service is really helping a long the way.

This bike kit is everything I hoped it would be. It has turned my bike into my primary transportation. Just enough juice to get up hills as you need it. One of the best things has been the extra momentum to get through busy intersections quickly and with ease. Easy install. I appreciate the flexibility in where you place the button. I love it!

To start, the purchasing experience was good. Pre-purchase questions were answered to help me choose wisely. Shipping was pretty fast, the following week. The items received were exactly ordered except the only difference was Leeds was out of my battery so they shipped me a larger one so I did not have to wait (SWEET). I had a slight glitch after installation and Leeds was totally helpful, so post purchase support was great as well. Just to comment on the kit - I ordered the 250W Rear Wheel kit. I had it installed in about 30 minutes including the rubber. I personally did not want an electric kit that did everything for me. I dont mind pedaling my bike. But where I live outside of Washington DC, we have some very local steep grades that I just have trouble climbing at my age and condition. This 250W kit makes it possible for me to bike just about everywhere without fear of not being able to climb many hills or over exerting myself. I still pedal almost all the time but I am not killing myself. This kit was really the difference between me continuing to ride versus parking my bike for good. So thanks for the great kit and service!!! I rate the kit a solid 5 star!!!!!

Have not been able to ride a tricycle/bicycle since 2003', due to being disabled. Purchased the 250 kit with the 20.8 A battery. It gets you back on your bike, and turns your bike into a commuter machine. It truly is amazing to be able to bike with others again, I love it. With my 'little companion' riding along in her buddyrider, we are getting outdoors, and moving around the community. You can't go wrong purchasing from Leeds (e-bikerig.com), they are a wonderful company with superb customer service.

I was one of those unlucky folks whose primary bike's fork did not fit the washers. Luckily I was able to use my husband's bike for commuting while working the problem. The kit fit perfectly on his bike on the first try. Leed sent me new torque washers to fit my fork but as in other reviews I've read, they were not machined correctly and I had to file the opening some for them to work. Leed was kind enough to send me replacement washers in case the filing did not do the trick.

The system works well and is great for the money. The customer support is excellent and is the reason I went with Leeds instead of a Kickstarter or IndieGogo campaign. Problems and hiccups always happen in any system. With Leeds you know there is a team ready to help just a phone call away and that means a lot.

One thing to be careful of with this system is making sure that the battery is not placed in such a way that the "on/off" button can get jossled. My first ride it jostled and turned itself off right before the giant hill that caused me to look for e-bike support on the first place! Luckily I thought to look (at the end of a ten hour shift I was willing to look for any solution) and I turned it back on and got up that danged hill. ;-)

Leeds e-bike kits are great for the money and definitely do the job. I've been commuting to work (15 miles round trip in hilly Colorado) for over a month and I love it.

I had stopped riding because of pain and now I'm back on my bike with no issues! I love that the wheel is quiet, light and the button is easy to push (palm of hand). Customer service on phone and chat was helpful. Video instructions for installation were good and easy to follow, except for two things: 1. you should point out that there's a direction to the wheel, I figured that out after I put it on! 2. you should point out that you might need to adjust your v-brakes. I had to get mine done by my local bike shop, not a big deal, but would have been reassuring to know that the Leeds wheel might be a larger thickness than my original wheel.

After some extensive research on investing in an e-Bike for my wife, or staying the status quo with her trusted (20 year+) old bike, we came across your web-site introducing us to the e-Bike conversion kits. This was more in line with the initial objective of getting that extra boost for hills and head-winds. Price was also more in line with what we wanted to spend and the fact that we would be converting an old bike, we felt the additional checks and balances in securing a new e-Bike everywhere you went would not be as significant. I had a choice of converting 1 of 2 older bikes in our garage. The thickness of the first bike's front forks resulted in the rivets on the e-bike wheel hub to rub against the forks. We then decided to install on the 2nd (old) bike and that worked much better. (Suggestion then ... measure the inside distance between the front wheel forks, approx 2 inches up and make sure there is enough clearance for the e-bike front-wheel hub). We also ordered the tire and inner tube, which came with a new style valve stem. This turned out to be incompatible with our bicycle pump. Not a big issue, I simply used the existing inner tube from the old bike. The installation of the actual wheel was very easy as well. All you really need are the tools to loosen/remove the old wheel and install the new one. I was not sure which direction the wheel was actually turning when energized, so I decided to power it up prior to installing to make sure I had the right direction. (Note to Leeds ... unless I missed it, put an arrow on the hub to indicate the wheel direction when energized).We also went with the larger battery, which we mounted on the back carrier. This will add to the weight of the bike, but not significantly. If you plan to do extensive biking and want additional protection from the elements, LEEDS does have a separate 'back carrier' battery holder that offers much better protection than the bag that comes with the kit. We ordered that after the initial purchase. If all you are looking for is the occasional 'boost', and you are able to regularly recharge the battery, then I would recommend the smaller size battery. Will save you a few dollars and remove some weight from your bike once all is installed. The kit also came with tie wraps, so no need to make a separate trip to the hardware store for those tie wraps to secure the wires. Speaking of wires, there's one harness that goes to the battery and one harness that goes to a push button you mount on the handle bars. The connector at the battery is in a metallic housing that is easy to unscrew, so you can quickly remove the battery.

Now for the initial test run. We have a pretty steep hill from the main road going in to our subdivision. Couldn't believe how effortless it was to get up the hill when engaging the power boost. We now call it the 'magic button'. My wife does a lot of biking around town and really loves the additional boost. Best thing is, she still gets her exercise with the added benefit of the additional assistance when needed. We've only had it for a month, but so far, so good. Time will tell on how everything stands up in the foreseeable future. If the after-sale service from Leeds matches the support prior to our purchase, I think we're set up quite nicely for a while.

The customer service was excellent and so is the product. I'm biking a lot more now because the kit makes the hilly area in which I live much more tolerable. My only problem was that the standard control cable is not long enough for mounting the battery on the back of a recumbent bike. Leeds makes a longer one which was just barely long enough, but I had to go through phone calls and exchanges to get one. On their ordering page, Leeds should ask if you need an oversize cable.

The 250W kit with 20 Ah battery was purchased as a birthday present for my wife. It was a big hit. We do 20 to 30 mile rides on quiet country roads with some challenging hills. Now in our seventies, it is harder to keep up with our friends. the Leed 250 solved that problem! She is now out front all the way, hills and all. At first, I was unsure if the 250 had sufficient power since my experience is with a 500W eZee conversion kit. The Leed videos on the website and customer feedback convinced me that the 250 would do the job for my wife, and it has. Its power,simplicity and range are appealing. I especially like the wiring harness, with the weather resistant connections, and the controller being protected inside the battery carrier. These were particular problems with my eZee system. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Leeds 250 based on our experience.
A missing battery charger was the only problem encountered. Just an oversight that was very quickly corrected by the friendly people at Leed.

Shipping process needs significant work and gets two stars. I had two consecutive shipments that were either wrong or missing components.

I like most all of it ,except motor start button . The activator button was much better with the switch not button.Button is hard to work with gloves due to small size the thumb switch worked better.
